We were lucky to catch up with Hunter La Salle recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hunter, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The most meaningful projects we’ve worked on have been our films: Shiprock, 1952, STORMCHASERS, and our upcoming film, NIGHTHAWK. As well as our first album releasing in January 2025, 21st Century Heroes. These projects are meaningful to us because, as brothers, we have always created art together, striving to become great, and these are our most recent projects that most closely represent our vision and where we are headed in the future. We dedicated Shiprock, 1952 to our grandfather, Jeane La Salle, and we feel that this story allows him to live forever through the magic of cinema.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Holy Grail Cinema Club was founded by the La Salle brothers during a family trip to Hawaii where they were gifted their first camera, the Flip Video. Fast forward to 2022, Hunter La Salle is an up-and-coming theatre performer working on his award-winning short film, Landmark, and reaches out to Tyler La Salle, who had taken a creative hiatus to learn Arabic in the Air Force, to work on the score of the film. This creative reunion sparked a fire which led to their short film Shiprock, 1952, premiering at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Boulevard as part of the Golden State Film Festival.
While we were filming Shiprock, 1952, we also attended Austin City Limits, specifically, to see The 1975, and also seized the opportunity to run up onstage during the 30 Seconds to Mars show after Jared Leto invited “whoever was crazy enough to get up onstage.” This sparked the beginning of the La Salle Brothers band, 21st Century Heroes, whose genre defying album will be available on all streaming platforms in January.
FUTUREMYTH is the La Salle Brothers creative label which seeks to shine a spotlight on emerging, visionary artists. Their first signing, Carter J. Crosby, is releasing an album, Providence, which will be available on all streaming platforms on October 24th. In addition to Tyler La Salle’s newest album, CLOVIS (jacob’s ladder) which released on October 11th, and Hunter’s La Salle’s upcoming new album, Traveling Love Songs of the Sunflower Committee, which will be released on November 27th.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on NFTs. (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
Not for us. We don’t take steroids.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Human beings who can tap into the soul of the universe should not be taken for granted. We should not place that responsibility into the hands of artificial intelligence. We believe in creating a vision that stands the test of time and taking our place among the classics.
