We were lucky to catch up with Ardelia Lewis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ardelia , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Flawless Desires was created in Oakland California and became an outstanding company that has lead to my desire in my life. I grew up in household with three other individuals and I had a very big family. We always work cute clothes because the woman in our family took pride and who they were. I lost my mom at the age of nine and begin to wonder where my identity went. I looked for people in the community who went through the same thing as me and decided to collaborate with the others to get their expressions of the life they went through.
I learned that most didn’t have a voice to speak up because they didn’t have a way to represent themselves or judgment and fear of what others think. I thought this myself. When I was 20, I started working at Macy’s as a beauty advisor and it wasn’t the job description I wanted. I asked to be a cashier and the manager told me I see you as a different aspect of the team and I need you wherever I feel your a best fit at. I ended up working as a beauty advisor for two years and found my way into different perspective of conversations events and even reality I did prom, weddings, arrangements, cancer, patients, skin, deceleration, and even myself a person with eczema make up cover up or memory. when I was 22 went back to the neighborhood and then I grew up in and gave face paintings for the event in 2021 in San Francisco. My brand name Flawless comes from outstanding abundance of experience and desire comes from bringing your pain into reality while letting go emotions. My Branf represents me and I represent my brand and it is a calling for everyone to bring their desire out just like a brought mine I can do it to !

Ardelia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ardelia Lewis, an experienced entrepreneur and beauty industry leader, discusses overcoming challenges like decision fear, and uncertainty. My journey from smaller roles to leading teams in the beauty sector involved significant leaps in responsibility, initially met with fear and doubt. I highlights how mentorship and focusing on long-term goals have helped me navigate the complexities of leadership. I emphasizes that resilience, balancing logic with intuition, and facing fear head-on are critical for her growth. My advice resonates with entrepreneurs and beauty professionals who encounter similar challenges in their careers.
In my role as an artist promoter and craft designer, I underscores the importance of helping creators express their vision while aligning with market demands. Beauty products, much like art, offer a medium for self-expression, enhancing natural features and allowing individuals to achieve their desired image. The craft designer’s role is to thoughtfully shape products that reflect this creativity, while the artist promoter ensures these innovations reach audiences who seek inspiration and transformation. I am a powered beauty professional, empowering people to feel confident, giving them control over their self-presentation, which plays a pivotal role in personal and artistic fulfillment.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to bring ideas to life and connect with people on an emotional level through your work. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about translating personal vision, inspiration, or emotions into a tangible form, whether it’s through design, art, or beauty. It’s the process of creation that allows for self-expression while also resonating with others in ways that words sometimes cannot. When people connect with my work—whether it’s a beauty product, a design, or a creative piece—it feels like a shared experience, and that sense of impact makes the entire journey worthwhile.
Additionally, the constant evolution and discovery that comes with being a creative, the ability to experiment, push boundaries, and see things in a new light, are rewarding in themselves. Creativity is not only about the end product but also the journey of growth, learning, and exploration.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale requires a combination of strong communication, trust, recognition, and fostering a positive work culture. Clear and transparent communication is essential to keep everyone aligned and informed, which builds trust and ensures that team members feel involved in the overall mission. Empowering your team by delegating tasks and trusting them to deliver fosters ownership and initiative, while regular recognition of both individual and group achievements boosts motivation and morale. It’s also important to encourage personal growth by providing opportunities for learning, whether through mentorship or new challenges, showing your team that you are invested in their development. Promoting a positive work environment, where collaboration and open feedback are encouraged, helps build strong relationships and a sense of community. Lastly, leading by example in terms of enthusiasm, work ethic, and commitment sets the standard for the team, inspiring them to follow suit. Altogether, these practices help create a motivated, engaged, and high-performing team.
