We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lizbeth Labra Espino. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lizbeth below.
Alright, Lizbeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
I believe there’s a fine line between sharing your passion and feeling like you’re pushing too hard. For me, the key to navigating this balance lies in authenticity and mutual respect.
Rather than expecting friends and family to become your most loyal customers or marketing team, it’s about sharing your journey and allowing them to decide how they’d like to engage. Inviting them to follow your social media, encouraging them to leave a review, or suggesting they recommend your services if they’ve used them are all appropriate ways to seek support. When the support comes naturally, it feels genuine, and your relationships remain strong, with no strings attached.
I draw the line at expecting friends and family to support you financially or feeling obligated to promote your business. It’s one thing to share your excitement, but it’s quite another to insist they buy from you, especially if your product or service isn’t something they need. Repeatedly pushing them to share or endorse your business can also feel overwhelming.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a creative and lifestyle photographer and owner of Lizbeth’s Camera Roll. My photography journey began with a deep appreciation for storytelling through visuals. I’ve always been captivated by how images can evoke emotions and preserve cherished moments, inspiring me to capture the experiences that bring people closer together.
I provide beautifully curated photography sessions designed for various occasions, including weddings, maternity shoots, family gatherings, birthdays, and graduations. My focus is on capturing genuine, joyful moments while creating a dreamy, fairy-tale vibe that resonates with my clients. I aim to offer more than just photographs; I want to provide a memorable experience that clients will treasure for years to come.
What sets me apart from others in the industry is my commitment to authenticity and personalization. I take the time to understand each client’s vision, ensuring that the final product reflects their unique story.
I am most proud of the connections I’ve built with my clients. Hearing their feedback—like how my photographs made them feel like they were living in a fairy tale—truly resonates with me and fuels my passion for this work. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that my art can touch lives in such a meaningful way.
Lizbeth’s Camera Roll is not just a business; it’s a labor of love. I believe in creating moments that celebrate life’s milestones in a way that feels authentic and joyful. Whether you’re looking to capture a special occasion or simply want to document your family’s unique story, I’m here to make that happen!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
One of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative is inspiring younger generations to pursue their dreams. Last year, I had the opportunity to participate in my sibling’s Career Day at school, and it was incredibly special to see so many kids interested in photography and creative fields. One of the most frequently asked questions from the kids was whether I was Latina. I think seeing someone who looked like them resonated deeply, reinforcing the idea that they, too, could carve out a path in the arts.
Growing up, I didn’t know many people with creative careers, which often made me feel that such a path wasn’t a possibility for me. Experiencing these young minds eager to explore their artistic passions filled me with hope and excitement for the future. It’s a powerful reminder that the creative world is expanding, and representation matters.
I’m grateful to play a small part in encouraging others to follow their dreams. I hope to continue sharing my journey and to inspire more young creatives to embrace their unique voices, reminding them that their dreams are within reach.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
One resource I wish I had prioritized earlier in my creative journey is bookkeeping. At first, it felt overwhelming, and I often found myself scrambling to keep track of expenses, invoices, and client communications. However, discovering systems like Honeybook was a game-changer for me.
Using Honeybook helped me streamline my processes, allowing me to become more organized and productive. It simplified tasks such as invoicing and managing client information, giving me more time to focus on what I love—creating beautiful photographs. If I had embraced these tools sooner, I believe I could have alleviated a lot of stress and set a stronger foundation for my business from the start.
