We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Eric Norwine. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Eric below.
Alright, Eric thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I was teaching high school Social Studies at Lutheran St. Charles when I was asked to put together a video for their annual fundraiser. My original degree is in Cinematic Arts from the University of Southern California, so this request was not foreign to me. I decided to take this on as a side project, not expecting to make anything of it. Once I did it, I was hooked (again). I couldn’t stop thinking of all the ways I could get back into the “storytelling” business. I continued to do the videos for the next few years until finally making the jump to tell stories full time in June of 2023.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I was born and raised in St. Charles. For as long as I can remember I loved anything and everything that had to do with making films. Thanks to some very special people, I had the privilege to attend and graduate from the University of Southern California’s film school. I have been writing, directing and producing short films, web videos, commercials, feature length motion pictures and non-profit fundraising videos for over 20 years – 5 of which were spent working in Hollywood. What sets us apart is the way we treat people that we work with. We take pride in our ability to shine a light on the soul of your organization and make you feel seen and heard throughout the entire process.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth. We love getting the opportunity to work with local businesses and nonprofits because we know the impact a referral can have on our company.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
As most companies do, we have some goals that are bigger and some that are smaller. Our “smaller” goal is to make every project we work on a positive experience for all those involved. Our larger mission is to bring the film industry to Missouri; specifically the St. Louis area.
