We recently connected with Hannah Hinton and have shared our conversation below.
Hannah, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Starting my photography business was life-changing. I have always been creative and had an eye for photography, but lacked the courage develop it into something greater. In 2020, I was in my last year of nursing school when I decided to finally take on the risk of opening my very own business. Despite having limited time and financial resources, I leapt in with my heart to pursue this dream. The start was a lot of work; slow going at times. Trial and error navigated me to find what worked and what didn’t. After becoming a nurse, I found this side passion to be even more rewarding. It was an outlet for me to spark creativity and put my “9-5”, or “7-7” in my circumstance, to the side. I am fortunate enough to be able to manage being both a business owner and a nurse PRN at the hospital. It is hard for me to imagine my life now without having taken this chance all those years ago!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the owner of Golden Hint Visuals, LLC. I specialize in Wedding & Lifestyle Photography in the Southeast based out of Atlanta, Georgia. I aim to document timeless moments for couples in all phases of life. My approach is genuine, authentic and intentional. Because, in the end, we all become stories.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
The initial capital to start my business came from working as a Patient Care Technician in nursing school. I often worked night shifts and weekends to make the amount needed to purchase equipment and software for editing. My weeks were long and packed full, but the joy I got from my first sessions made it well worth it. This spark is what kept me going and helped snowball my business!

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I love following my clients on social media (particularly instagram) because it helps me get to know them as people! I love learning about what they enjoy in their free time and what they are passionate about. Regularly interacting with them builds a trusting friendship, which inevitably leads to more bookings together.
