Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yessica Lizbeth. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Yessica, thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
It was back in June 2022 when I was starting to plan my then four-year old’s party. The past parties I had planned had been in Tijuana and Rosarito with the help of party groups on Facebook for those areas. Honestly, I didn’t feel like having it over there anymore. However, I came across a problem and that was that I didn’t know where to start looking for vendors here. I had never heard of such groups on this side of the border either. I also thought that it would take forever to ask for vendors in multiple groups. So, I decided to create a party group of my own. At first it was just for my area (I live in Chula Vista), but within days I saw interest in people to have it county wide, so I changed it to that. To be honest I never thought people would join, I was in for a big surprise.
Slowly it started gaining momentum, fast forward to almost the 2-year mark in March of this year, I finally decided to make an Instagram account. Following by a Tik Tok one. People seem to like the idea and keep joining every day in all platforms. This has been a complete shock to me to know so many people like it. Most importantly, it makes me happy knowing they find it useful.

Yessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well, where do I start? it’s not common for someone to ask me this question. So here I go. My name is Yessica and I am a stay-at-home mom. I have four kids from age sixteen being the oldest to three being the youngest. I live in Chula Vista, I love a good coffee, a great mystery show and an awesome podcast. With my kids, husband and my social media accounts, I’m quite busy, but that doesn’t stop me from going out and exploring our beautiful San Diego. I’m also known to be quite honest and blunt, and I believe that is why our Facebook group has been accepted. I let people share both their great experiences as well as those not-so-great ones. I believe everyone should know the good, the bad and ugly of everything out there.
The whole purpose of the accounts is to help people find what they need for their parties and events. To facilite their search and lessen their stress if you will. Anyone can message/email me if they have any questions, comments, concerns or simply if they need a recommendation. My inbox is always there to help.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
To me the most rewarding aspect is when people find everything they needed for their events, and everything went smoothly. There’s no better reward than hearing those positive stories and reading those shout outs to vendors for doing an awesome job. When that happens, the purpose of me creating all of this has reached its goal.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Oh man it was rough back then. I was messaging vendors inviting them to my party group and some flat out told me “No thanks”. It was quite embarrassing to be honest, but I don’t blame them, looking back it was kind of a bold thing to do with a group with hardly any followers. To anyone else I would see looking for party related services elsewhere, I would leave the link to my party one inviting them to join in hopes they would find what they needed. In addition, I would also post in various other local groups and apps inviting everyone to join as well. By the time I created its Instagram and Tik Tok versions people just followed them as soon as I let them know. Right now, Instagram and Tik Tok are still on the rise as they are fairly new, but they’re gaining momentum for sure. Facebook is still the biggest with 34k + members.
In conclusion, to anyone out there trying to build an audience, don’t give up. It might take a while, but with much perseverance and patience you will get there. Take it from me. I never thought none of this will work out. If anyone would’ve told me a few years back I would create all of this, I would have laughed as the idea of it would have been too far-fetched. As I tell my kids, keep trying, don’t give up guys.
