Scaling up is definitely a tough thing to do. I found myself always finding creative strategies to stand out and to really grab my audiences attention. I did what my competition wasn’t doing. This opened up a new lane for me and It also gave my brand a sense of authenticity. To scale up you must understand data analytics and trends. I devoted the first 3 months of my fairly new business venture (My spa) analyzing trends, data, and finding different ways to reach my audience. I will say that you must go extremely hard for your business because no one will go as hard as YOU. Read more>>

After the first interview with Voyage MIA in 2019 4Elementum was doing great sales in farmers markets, local events, fairs and local stores so the business was slowly growing and expanding in the region, but once we hit March 2020 everything changed completely. CoVID took a big part into my business and it went down hill from the following months on. As I struggled to figure out what to do and where to sell (since lockdowns were in full effect) I had to think very hard what to do into expanding and growing the business. So I decided and went full effect into becoming an e-commerce business crossing my fingers that I will make some sort of sales and grow, I took that leap of faith and didn’t know how to really make it happen. We started our cigar business in September of 2017. My partners and I were industry outsiders to the cigar business so we didn’t have any direct connections on how to get started in the business. So we used our corporate experience to devise a business and marketing plan. So we set a goal to sell 10k cigars in our first year of operations. In order for us to be successful we needed to expose the public to our product. So decided each of the partners would go to their local cigar shops and ask customers have they heard of a small boutique cigar company called Emperors Cut cigars. Read more>>

I remember always looking at other business owners and thinking they are an overnight success. That’s how business is often portrayed in our glossy world today. This is so far from the truth! I must say that I continue to scale up all the time. It isn’t just one moment, strategy or event. Read more>>

Of course I started out like most businesses with a dream, a few ideas & lots of excitement, not knowing the immediate outcome. I literally started this for $25 & just wanted to make my own bouquet, thats it! I watched some YouTube videos over and over, picked up materials to get started and I began creating something that I had no idea on how it would turn out. Read more>>

Building my business up to where it is now has been a journey full of sweat, blood and tears. When I first started I was content with doing a balloon garland here and there. I bought supplies at party city or a little mom and pop party store, created the garland and dropped it off. I just saw it as a way to make a little income while attending school. Read more>>

Like almost all business owners and entrepreneur, we started Milan Home Staging from our home garage. Literally, we bought the first set of furniture, art and decoration and these items were in our garage waiting to be used in a listing. When I first began working on design projects in the real world I fell in love with not only the vast array of materials available but also with seeing my creative vision being brought to life. Like so many others before me, I started out as a solopreneur doing graphic design and HTML website coding (I’d taught myself to code to be competitive back in the mid 90s, after getting my BFA in Communication Design). I had decided at that time that I would say “Yes!” to every job that came in the door. Then, about 10 years later, to grow my network and gain professional knowledge, I joined the LA chapter of NAWBO — National Association of Women Business Owners. Read more>>
