Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sonia Brown. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Sonia , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I sometimes wonder if I was born knowing I would be in entertainment. As far back as I can remember I knew I would pursue entertainment. The latest I’d guess was as a pre-teen or in my early teens. But long before graduating High School I knew. Most of my extra-curricular activities throughout school were in the creative fields, the Performance Arts specifically. Band, School Choir, Church Choir, Modeling Club, Cheer Leading, Junior Achievement and so on. Aaliyah was my role model, I wanted to be like her. My Mom used to model and dance and she encouraged and supported everything I did in the field. The rest is history!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Again, my Mom was the main catalyst behind me realizing my dream.
I am a Production Manager for Film and TV, a Model/Talent Scout and Entertainment Consultant.
I bridge the gap between my clients dreams and reality.
Still working on what makes me most proud, but doing what I love having being raised in the ghetto by a Single Mother is a definite part of it.
I want potential clients to know that if I truly see potential in you, as long as you work with me, I will not stop until it’s realized.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Definitely, anything to do with starting a business and Business Management, maybe even a Business Degree. That would have saved me a lot of years and tears. But in my case there was a disconnect between being a creative/talent and business when I was young.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Creating a platform that acts as an outlet for entertainers to achieve sustainable, residual income is my driving force. And I think I finally got it, So look out for Carib-Link, the Model and Talent Search and Expo that will bridge the gap between the Caribbean Region and global markets.
