We were lucky to catch up with Chana Gedy recently and have shared our conversation below.
Chana, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
My journey began with a deep fascination for bodywork, breathwork, and voice work, so I kept exploring and learning more about various techniques that stimulate the breath and energize the body. During my certification course in Fitzmaurice Voicework™ and Tremorwork™, I was introduced to energy work—something I haven’t encountered before and didn’t even know to look for. It was a completely foreign concept to me until I experienced it firsthand, feeling heat and the release of tension in areas like my neck and shoulders, where I was holding a lot of stress.
This experience sparked a deep interest in energy work, and I continued experimenting with it on myself during the intermission year of my course. Over time, I developed a method that targets areas of high tension by creating an internal movement through breath. This enhances breathing and promotes a profound relaxation in my clients, often leading them to fall into a deep, restorative state that may resemble sleep, where the breath naturally deepens and occurs spontaneously.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Her Signature Offering: Light-Touch Recovery®
Gedy’s signature offering in the wellness world, recently trademarked, is Light-Touch Recovery®, an individualized, non-invasive approach to recovery training. This method helps accelerate recovery after workouts while releasing blockages and stagnation in the body. Light-Touch Recovery® may help regulate the nervous system, leaving you feeling relaxed, recharged, and rejuvenated—perfectly prepared for your next training session, competition, or performance.
During intense physical workouts, your body experiences significant physiological stress. Without a proper recovery routine, this stress can increase the risk of injury, lead to ailments, and even shorten your career span. Light-Touch Recovery® aims to bring the body’s nervous system into a parasympathetic state—often referred to as “rest and digest”—which is responsible for returning the body to relaxation. This slows the heart rate, deepens the breath, and stimulates digestion, counteracting the “fight or flight” response triggered during high-intensity workouts.
Lingering or unhealed injuries can cause energy blockages in the body, leading to symptoms such as decreased range of motion, restricted breathing, chronic pain, muscle spasms, stiffness, and poor posture. Restless sleep, insomnia, or irritability may also indicate energy stagnation. Gedy’s approach uses light, non-invasive touch to reduce bodily stress, facilitating healing and recovery. This technique aims to release tension and restore overall balance, allowing the body to move freely and function optimally. The release of tension may be expressed through shifts in breath, body heat, and spontaneous movement.
Light-Touch Recovery® sessions may help you:
Recover faster after workouts
Regulate your nervous system
Feel relaxed, recharged, and rejuvenated
Free yourself from dysfunctional patterns and habits
Increase overall body awareness
Gradually, this practice can help you realize the extent of your physical capabilities, increase mental resilience, and unlock your full potential.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich: This classic book provides timeless insights on success, emphasizing the power of mindset, persistence, and goal-setting to achieve entrepreneurial success. Hill’s principles on how thoughts and beliefs can shape our reality have been foundational in my approach to both business and personal growth.
Motivational Speaker Bob Proctor: Proctor’s teachings on mindset, particularly his work on the Law of Attraction and the importance of self-belief, have been pivotal. His emphasis on the idea that success starts in the mind has greatly influenced how I approach challenges and opportunities in my entrepreneurial journey.
Abraham Hicks: The teachings of Abraham Hicks, particularly around the Law of Attraction and the power of emotional alignment, have deeply influenced my philosophy. Their emphasis on focusing on positive energy and maintaining a high vibrational state has shaped how I approach challenges in both business and leadership. By prioritizing emotional well-being and cultivating an optimistic outlook, I’ve found it essential for driving success, staying resilient, and fostering strong connections in entrepreneurial endeavors.
Catherine Fitzmaurice: Her work in voice and bodywork, particularly through Fitzmaurice Voicework™, has had a significant impact on my understanding of how physical and mental well-being are interconnected. This has influenced how I manage stress and approach wellness in both personal and professional settings.
Saul Kotzubei: A master teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework™, Kotzubei’s focus on authenticity and emotional freedom has greatly inspired my coaching approach. His teachings emphasize the importance of clear communication, which has been crucial in managing teams and leading effectively.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been building a community through direct experiences with the work itself. I love this approach because the work is experiential—there’s no need for lengthy explanations. It’s about allowing people to feel the impact firsthand, which resonates particularly with those who are looking to thrive and understand how to work with their bodies. The results speak for themselves, and this organic connection with the community has been instrumental in expanding my client base.
