We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Queen Rahmaya a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Queen, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

The most meaningful project i’m currently working on is my upcoming music album ”Blax Sapphire” which will be released October 10th. The album name “Blax Sapphire” was named because she’s my alter ego that has helped me through all of my trials and tribulations including, betrayals, bullying, mental health battles and etc. Releasing “Blax Sapphire” will have a huge impact on others who are currently going through or had experienced these things that doesn’t have an outlet. They will never feel alone.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

My name is Queen Rahmaya, a music artist and entrepreneur in North Carolina. I own my online cosmetics brand called “Queen Rahmaya Beauty” that has established in 2021. “QRB” is a black owned alternative cosmetics brand that speaks to the individual who feels that they cannot express themselves; especially a person like me. I currently have four studio albums that involves many music genres including hiphop/rap, r&b and heavy metal.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I have gained my audience organically on social media due to my spontaneous personality and eccentric fashion. Most followers on social media I have known since grade school and most are other alternative audiences who enjoys my presence. I continue to be my authentic self and never let anything change me in real life.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

The mission I will continue to accomplish will be organically connecting with others and staying down to earth. My experiences and outcome will inspire ten, maybe hundreds of others to say to themselves “If Rahmaya can do it, I can too!”
