We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Karina Nizinkaja a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Karina, thanks for joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back, I think I would have started my photography business a little sooner. When I first started, I was just getting more confident in my skills, but I hesitated to take the leap. Starting earlier might have helped me learn and grow faster as a photographer.
However, I also think the timing was right because I had gained a lot of experience in marketing and content creation, which I now use in my photography. These skills helped me understand how to work with clients and tell stories through my photos.
So while starting earlier might have been good, I’m happy with the path I’ve taken and everything I’ve learned along the way.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a photographer with a passion for capturing the unique beauty of women in a way that feels authentic and empowering. My journey into photography started from my love for storytelling through visuals. With a background in marketing and content creation, I bring a unique perspective to my work by blending creativity with strategy.
I specialize in portrait, lifestyle, and commercial photography, with a particular focus on highlighting female beauty. I love working with clients to solve their visual needs, whether it’s for personal memories, branding, or content creation for businesses.
What sets me apart is my attention to detail and my ability to connect with people. I believe that building a strong connection with clients leads to the most natural and authentic photos. I’m proud of the trust I’ve built with my clients and the joy they feel when they see the final images.
For anyone looking for photography that captures both beauty and personality, I aim to provide that perfect mix.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, it’s gratitude. When I see the happy faces of my clients after they see the results (photos) and realize how beautiful they truly are, it motivates me and drives me to keep working harder. I also believe that every woman is beautiful, and a good photographer has the ability to capture that.
Additionally, when I see my photos used as profile pictures by my clients, it brings me so much joy!
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
The most important thing is to be yourself and not play any role. The audience can always tell if you’re being authentic or not. Also, you need to consistently post and engage with your audience. Nowadays, Instagram rewards engagement and active interaction with followers.
Collaborations with other creatives, bloggers, or influencers can also help grow your audience. Don’t be afraid to try something new!
