We recently connected with Ray ( Rä ) Abercrombie ( Lomac ) and have shared our conversation below.
Ray ( rä ), appreciate you joining us today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I genuinely wouldn’t trade being a creative for anything. The thought of a traditional 9-to-5 job doesn’t appeal to me at all. The freedom to create my own schedule and the autonomy to make decisions without restrictions is invaluable; I can’t imagine going back. The last time I even considered getting a conventional job was during the COVID-19 shutdowns. At that time, my desire stemmed from a longing to feel connected to the community. It felt as though the world was unraveling, and I wanted to contribute in a meaningful way. That period also served as a grounding experience, providing clarity on the type of work I wanted to pursue and permanently transformed my approach to the craft.

Ray ( rä ), love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a multidisciplinary creative with experience as a singer-songwriter, producer, photographer, founder, poet, and fashion designer. My journey began 15 years ago, starting with poetry and winning slam competitions, which gradually evolved into the diverse roles I embrace today. I now offer a range of visual and audio services, catering to both corporate and private clients. My unique perspective and meticulous execution set my work apart in the industry. I take pride in being able to thrive in this space because creativity is at the core of who I am—doing anything else simply wouldn’t fulfill me. Being able to make a living while creating is truly a blessing.
My goal is to ensure that potential clients and collaborators understand my commitment to delivering exceptional results and growing within the various creative fields I navigate. I am driven by a passion for pushing boundaries and maintaining the highest quality in every project I undertake. Rest assured, I approach every opportunity with dedication, giving my absolute best to achieve excellence.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
I believe the most effective way to support artists—and communities as a whole—is by focusing on the development of vertical grow houses. These innovative solutions can help address the ongoing food crisis, while simultaneously creating job opportunities and providing access to fresh, locally-sourced produce. By enhancing nutrition and food security, we can cultivate a healthier environment that directly benefits and nurtures an evolving creative community.
