We were lucky to catch up with Lupo recently and have shared our conversation below.

LUPO, appreciate you joining us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

The most meaningful project I’ve worked on so far has been my first-ever tour across Croatia, Vienna, and other parts of Europe. This experience was something completely new for me, as it marked not only my debut as LUPO but also my first live performances of original music, including “TWNMAR” and “FullMetal.” I loved being a guest artist on Rebelle’s concerts, which allowed me to share the stage with talented musicians and engage with diverse audiences in amazing venues. Each concert, whether it was an acoustic set on piano and guitar or a full band performance, brought its own energy and excitement, reminding me of why I fell in love with music in the first place.

One of the highlights was definitely meeting my first huge fan during our three-hour drive to Vienna. It was an absolute pleasure to connect with someone who was so enthusiastic about my work—it truly made me feel like a rockstar. Throughout the tour, I faced insecurities about my singing and performing original music live for large audiences, but the experience was incredibly fulfilling. The music video for “TWNMAR” helped me find my rhythm and let loose on stage, allowing me to embrace my authenticity. This tour showed me that my music has the power to create love and connection in the world, which is the most rewarding aspect of being an artist.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

For those who may not know me, I’m LUPO, an Italian independent artist dedicated to writing and performing rock pop music globally. My journey with music began at a young age, starting with classical training, then moving into film scores, and finally embracing my passion for rock pop. At 18, I made the pivotal decision to fully commit to my artistic endeavors. Today, as LUPO, I perform at various venues, create music and lyrics for fellow artists, and recently completed a tour across Europe with the talented Rebelle.

In addition to my performances, I produce, mix, and master my music, and I also create covers on platforms like YouTube and Instagram, collaborating with professional artists, filmmakers, and producers. A recent highlight has been the release of the music video for my second single, “TWNMAR” (Two Wrongs Never Made a Right). This project was a labor of love, made possible by the incredible contributions of Rebelle, Charlie Lo Presti, Josip Pozgaj from JP Productions, and Krish Thakkar from Blue Volt Studios. My music aims to bring a fresh, progressive style to rock pop, often exploring deep emotional themes while offering a sense of hope amidst life’s challenges.

I’m particularly proud of the “TWNMAR” music video, as it represented a lifelong dream to visually showcase my original music. The experience was profoundly rewarding, thanks to the dedicated professionals I had the privilege to work with. Their commitment and passion made this project truly special. Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My creative journey is driven by several goals, with the most important being the desire to change someone’s life for the better through my music. Recently, while touring Europe with fellow independent artist Rebelle, I had an incredible experience that truly highlighted this mission. On our way to Vienna, I met a young fan named Lemy who shared that my music had touched his heart and significantly impacted his life. Hearing this was one of the most rewarding moments for me as an artist and reaffirmed the power of music to inspire and uplift.

I use my songs to express a range of emotions and experiences, whether they stem from joyful moments or challenges I’ve faced. My ultimate aim is for my music to resonate with listeners around the world, providing comfort during tough times. Music has always been my refuge in difficult situations; while it doesn’t magically solve problems, it often makes them feel more manageable. I believe that recognizing shared experiences through music can help listeners navigate their own challenges.

On a lighter note, I consider myself a pretty goofy and comedic person. I’ve always found that laughter can be a powerful remedy, even in tough times. I often look for humor in difficult situations, which helps me cope and makes life a little more bearable. I firmly believe that time heals all wounds, and through my music, I hope to bring joy and smiles to others. Ultimately, my mission is to touch the hearts of every person who hears my music and to bring a little light into their lives.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is the ability to engage in what I love every day—writing music, creating social media content, recording, producing, and shooting music videos. I feel incredibly fortunate to do work that fulfills me, a sentiment not everyone can claim. While every aspect of my creative journey is rewarding, some experiences stand out more than others.

One of the greatest rewards comes from collaborating with exceptionally talented professionals in the industry. Working alongside such skilled individuals to create beautiful music and art that can be shared with the world is profoundly fulfilling. Recently, after completing my European tour, I discovered a new joy in performing original music and songs by other independent artists to whom I’ve contributed. The thrill of being on stage, sharing music I’ve personally shaped through lyrics, production, and arrangement, has transformed my perspective on live performance. Watching the audience connect with my words and feel the emotions behind the music is simply mind-blowing.

These experiences highlight the multifaceted rewards of being an artist, and it’s challenging to choose just one as the most fulfilling. Together, they create a dynamic system that allows me to write and release music, fueling the cycle of creativity. Ultimately, the true reward lies in the ability to do what I love and the overwhelming positivity I receive from audiences, fostering connections that many may never experience.
