We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessica Lopez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessica below.
Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
As a very young single mother of one boy, I had to make big decisions as to what my life was going to look like, not just for myself but my son as well… if I wanted to be successful I needed to take the leap, and not let the fear of the unknown overwhelm me.
I had to take initiative and have determination to be successful, and success can be different for everyone. I just learned as your mindset changes, so does your life.
I lived in a small New Mexico town, moved to Mexico at the age of 19 with my son, and then finally to CA. Life is now great and not a struggle.
Jessica, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Jessica Lopez I am a Realtor with Aston Rose Sports + Entertainment, our brokerage of dedicated Agent Advisors are in eight states: California, DC, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, New York, Texas, and Virginia.
I have been in Real Estate for a little over 2 years with the Cherry Home Team… we currently serve San Diego counties, Orange County, and parts of Riverside counties and Inland Empire. I have lived in Southern California for 9 years now, my son and I moved here after living in New Mexico and Mexico (shortly).
I got into Real Estate after I was tired of working in the bar industry… I wanted more out of life.
Before waitressing, I did body piercing for about 3 years, and there was no way of making a living in California doing that!
As a younger real estate professional (with tattoos and piercings) I love that I can connect with the newer generation coming up and help them with their real estate journey comfortably whether it’s buying, selling, or investing. When consulting with a client, I make sure the first thing they see is my value and skills, and if we vibe together -it’s a wrap!!
I’m slightly new to the industry, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to get sh*t done (excuse my french), or that I don’t have the ability. I actually work harder when I get involved with things I am unfamiliar with..
There can and will be obstacles when dealing with transactions, but it’s all about how you navigate them.
Today I am not only a Realtor, but I sit on the board of the Women’s Council of Realtor’s as 2024-2025 local First Vice President for Southwest Riverside County.
Joining the council has not only made a difference in my career, but has shown me what it takes to be a leader, embrace challenges, and take part in my community.
I love helping people and that’s why I love what I do!
I enjoy the task of making the home buying or selling process easy for my clients… letting them know I have their best interests at heart, and I will do all I can that way they are happy and all parties win.
Being personable and gaining friendships with people who were just clients at one point is such an amazing experience. I am very proud knowing that I make a difference in people’s lives, it’s one of my drives… that, and my son.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele would be authenticity.
Be you!
No one likes a salesman saying the same ol’ script. Once you build rapport with that person, it’s then time to follow up.
Staying consistent and being personable is key when gaining clientele.
How’d you meet your business partner?
I met Capri Cherry through eXp Realty when I first began my real estate career. As part of the program, eXp assigns mentors to new agents for their initial transactions. One morning, I got a call from Capri, who introduced herself as my mentor. She shared that she had just left a team and was about to start her own. She invited me to join her and honestly explained the challenges we might face as a new team in the area. Without hesitation, I said, “Yes, I’d love to!”
I was eager for dedicated one-on-one mentorship during my first year as an agent—and Capri delivered beyond my expectations. She has not only guided me and kept me accountable, but she has also become like family. Our team has found success despite being new, and we couldn’t be happier working with our brokerage, Aston Rose Sports and Entertainment.
