We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Madison Louise. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Madison below.
Madison , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you share an anecdote or story from your schooling/training that you feel illustrates what the overall experience was like?
My YTTs (yoga teacher trainings) were transformative, deeply connecting me to both personal growth and a sense of community. I trained in a program that emphasized not only the physical aspects of yoga but also the spiritual and mental elements, which really shaped my holistic approach to wellness.
One of the most impactful moments came when we had to teach a class for the first time. I remember feeling both excited but terrified to step into the role of a teacher and see myself in a new way. But when I saw the positive response from my students, I realized how empowering it is to guide others through their practice and how in doing that I was guided back to myself. That first teaching experience reinforced my belief that wellness is about creating a supportive space where people feel seen, heard, and capable of growth. These client first, holistic nature of my brand.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My love affair with holistic living began with my first yoga class sometime in 2007 (before it was cool or trendy!). I took a chance on yoga, then meditation, and the rest is history. I fell in love with the way yoga made my body and mind feel. There was a vibe, an energy that in every class drew me closer to myself. It was a clear and grounded sign pointing me towards my soul calling and healing me from so many of the challenges we face as women. Over the many years since that very first yoga class, I have intentionally created a life centered on self love, personal growth, and embodiment.
Through my business, Madison Louise Yoga, I offer a collection of bespoke, female-focused online wellness services that stand out for their luxurious and comprehensive approach to health and well-being. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One major lesson I had to unlearn was the idea that wellness is solely about achieving physical goals or perfecting poses. Early on in my teaching journey, I focused a lot on the physical side of yoga—wanting to master certain postures, push my body to its limits, and measure progress by how “advanced” I appeared. I thought that being able to present myself a certain way to the world would equate to success as a yoga practitioner and teacher.
The turning point came when I was hospitalized for an unexpected health issue and was forced to take a break from my practice. It was a humbling experience that forced me to slow down, stop pushing myself so hard, and reconsider my approach to yoga and wellness. During my recovery, I realized that true wellness isn’t about how flexible or strong you are on the outside—it’s about the internal balance, the connection with your mind, and honoring the softness of your body’s wants and needs.
This experience shifted my perspective and became central to how I approach Madison Louise Yoga. I now encourage my clients to listen to their bodies, practice self-compassion, and focus on the emotional, mental, and spiritual benefits of wellness. It’s not about perfection; it’s about creating a nurturing, supportive practice that honors where you are in the moment.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele at Madison Louise Yoga has been building genuine connections with my audience, both online and in person. I focus on creating a welcoming, inclusive community where women feel supported in their wellness journeys. Word-of-mouth has been powerful because when women feel truly seen and cared for, they’re more likely to recommend the experience to their friends and family.
Social media has also played a key role in expanding my reach. I share not just yoga sequences, but tips on mindfulness, self-care, and holistic wellness. By offering valuable, relatable content, I connect with women who may not be able to attend in-person sessions but are still interested in the principles of my brand. Collaborating with other female-centered wellness brands and hosting community events or workshops have further strengthened these connections, making Madison Louise Yoga a trusted name in the wellness space.
Ultimately, it’s about creating an authentic experience where clients feel empowered and inspired. The personal touch—remembering names, following up on individual progress, and providing ongoing support—has helped build lasting relationships that naturally lead to business growth.
