In addition, there are some ministry requesting for a new branding identity and posters. I rebrand their logo and visual identity. Because Vineyard Columbus is a historic church, I bring more contemporary and user friendly visual system for congregations and visitors.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
As designer, we used to help people to address their idea or concept visually about any project. In addition, we are looking for the insights of any projects or issues we see. Thus, we are not just create pretty and appealing graphic for people, we are also critical thinkers who are not only follow the flows.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I started my BA study in graphic design, I feel that it’s different creative methodology than I think comparing to painting and drawing. Thus, I spend really tough and long term to understand the theory of graphic design. Many time, I though I am not a person who is good at graphic design because I feel I can’t be really creative all the time and create better designs than others. But I was wrong. There are no reasons to give up due to the comparison. In addition, I should set a high threshold for myself, the process of design is a journey of exploring the insights and hidden opportunities for creative projects. I can’t imagine the result and performance before I have done a lot of researches and experiments. Then I feel less anxious and work harder.
