Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jessica Labita and Ashley LaNeve. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jessica and Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
We produce all our own social media content, but we’re fortunate to have an amazing team at Adapting Social who assists us in editing to highlight the most engaging aspects. They also help manage our content across various platforms. We chose this approach because creating content is time-consuming and demands significant thought, energy, and creativity. Our goal is to ensure that our content reflects who we truly are, making it authentic and relatable for our audience.
Partnering with our agency has greatly reduced our professional stress. They manage our content calendar, ensuring we share engaging and timely content with the right audience. The results have been impressive: since launching our platform five months ago, we’ve experienced rapid growth across all social media channels and have surpassed 15K subscribers on YouTube. In fact, our research indicates that it typically takes new social media marketers about 15 months to reach 1,000 subscribers.
One key lesson we’ve learned is that content can perform differently on each platform. What thrives on TikTok might not resonate on Instagram. It’s crucial to monitor metrics across all platforms to see what connects with our audience and where. This data enables us to allocate our energy and budget to the most effective content, boosting engagement and attracting more followers. It also guides us in understanding what type of content to create as we continue to grow.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
We’re Jessica Labita and Ashley LaNeve, the sisters behind Sisters Uncensored, a podcast that dives deep into our tumultuous past. Our show invites listeners to join us on a rollercoaster ride through our childhood, filled with chaotic family gatherings and absurd moments. The chemistry we share creates a vibe that feels just like a heart-to-heart with your best friends.
At Sisters Uncensored, we’re all about being real. We share unfiltered and unapologetic stories that highlight the messiness of our upbringing, our crazy family dynamics, and everything in between. Each Wednesday, you can tune in wherever you listen to podcasts to hear us spill the tea on our escapades, family drama, and the life lessons we’ve learned along the way, sometimes while bringing special guests along for the ride. Expect plenty of laughter, brutal honesty, and genuine conversations about the complexities of life.
We truly believe in creating a safe space for our listeners—whether you’re a woman, a sibling, or even a husband trying to understand the female perspective. We encourage everyone to share their own stories, fostering a sense of community where everyone feels understood and supported. So, come join us on this journey of laughter and healing!

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
As an online business that thrives on collaborations and social media, building brand loyalty with our customers is all about community engagement. We prioritize responding to every comment we receive—good or bad—on all platforms. We get a wide range of comments, and we often find humor in the negativity (especially after a glass of wine!). Our goal is for our audience to see the real us and how we would react if someone said those things face-to-face. We embrace confrontation when it’s necessary and don’t tolerate online bullying or keyboard warriors; we stand up for ourselves, our guests, and our community.
We’re all about supporting women and uplifting those in our circle. While we know our vibe might not resonate with everyone, we fully embrace our authentic selves—sometimes a bit ratchet and definitely unfiltered. This genuine approach may not align with every collaboration, but it’s a perfect fit for the right partners who appreciate our unique brand. Ultimately, fostering this sense of authenticity and connection is what keeps our audience loyal and engaged.

How’d you meet your business partner?
We met on Christmas Day in 1984—the most magical day when Santa brought Ashley into Jessica’s life. Jessica is the oldest of four siblings, Lindsay (our other sister) is next, with Ashley being third in line, followed by our baby brother and mother’s favorite child, Mark. With four kids in five years, our parents were always busy, but growing up so close in age created a childhood that felt picture-perfect—until it wasn’t, which ultimately inspired our podcast.
Navigating the chaos of life as children of divorce has shaped us in profound ways and influences how we raise our own kids today. Our sibling bond is the foundation of our lives, and it’s this unique connection that drives our work together.
