We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Keys Harper a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Keys thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?

Yes I love taking vacations ! It helps my mental health , I’m able to mediate and regain my thoughts. Even when I take vacations I still market and promote my business. I also bring merchandise so either me or models can do a shoot.

What started as a mental health outlet for one woman, has grown into a community of artistic, resilient people who are inspired by one another to go after their dreams. Whatever battles you’re facing in life, Spoiled Brats was created to empower you to face them fearlessly.
Our clothes are designed for the person who wants to show off their unique style and personality, while still feeling comfortable and confident.

I’m most proud of being apart of a team and having my own clothing boutique called “ayo boutique” in Baltimore & currently working on a store in Atlanta.

I want my potential clients to know that I am a hard working woman who created a brand based on creative outlet to help channel my mental health. And whatever obstacles they are facing does not define you they make you stronger and wiser.

How’d you meet your business partner?

I met my business partner Durrell on instagram he found me and wanted me to join the Ayo team. My brand hit it off so well in the Baltimore store he put my clothing in the west minister, MD & he that he offered to partner with me and open another store in Atlanta. When you manifest things just fall into place. Because how did someone all the way in Baltimore find me and it worked out so well.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

I started my business in October 2016. I was able to find my business by working two jobs one at a call center and the other I was a server/host I saved up tips and checks to help find my initial products for my business.
