Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Frazier. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Ashley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
Ever since I was little, the love of fashion has always been with me. I can remember being a little girl going to 34th street and shopping at Macy’s with my mother and grandmother. I loved to look good. Because if you look good you feel good right. Fast forward to having my own kids. My then 2 year old son took to the camera at a very young age. My husband and I saw how well behaved he was and the way he showed so much personality when it came to photos. So I decided to combine my love for fashion with his love for the camera and boom . 3 years later he is on the Nordstrom website for a Black Owned Brand called King And Lola and he has now walked for NYC fashion week alongside his older brother and sister a handful of times and we are preparing for another runway show with me as a designer in 2025. I am so proud and amazed at how far we have all come with fashion. I absolutely love styling and designing. I am currently working on a children’s brand called CONCRETE ROSE 🥀 it’s going to be filled with vibrant colors mixed with earth tones.
Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For the people who may not know who I am, I got into the industry by putting myself out there and not accepting no for an answer. I continue to still place myself in a position where I’m seen and heard for what I do. Fashion is my passion and I’m very different with what I do. But love what I do. Styling is such a huge part of my life and my family loves it. It’s brings us so close together and we enjoy life through art and fashion. I make sure to incorporate my kids into what I do and my husband supports me to the fullest.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of doing what I do. Is seeing my family together . Seeing my kids make friends with other kids that share the same passion as they do with runway shows and print work. I absolutely love building relationships with like minded individuals.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I am currently going through one of the hardest obstacles in life . And we lost quite a bit but with the love and encouragement of my husband and the conciseness support from my aunt and some very special friends, I know things will get better. We moved to NYC and I was able to still be a part of NYC fashion week as a designer and with a collaboration with King and Lola for a GOLDEN STYLE RUNWAY. I have been so encouraged and blessed to have a family with them and they have been so stand encouraging. I thank god for them!
