Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna Grydasova
Hi Anna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in the wedding industry began in 2007 when we opened our first bridal store in Kyiv, Ukraine. Initially, we focused on importing well-known international bridal brands, gaining valuable insight into the market and understanding what brides were looking for. This experience sparked a desire to create something unique for the Ukrainian bridal market, and in 2015, we launched our own production and established Ariamo Fashion Group.
We started small—just four people, including myself, a sales manager, and two tailors—but we had big ambitions. Our goal was to offer bridal dresses that were elegant, modern, and catered to a variety of tastes. Over the years, we expanded into four distinct brands, each with its own philosophy and style, ranging from minimalist designs to bohemian-inspired collections and luxury couture.
As the company grew, so did our reach. Today, we are proud to have our dresses sold in over 60 countries and nearly 500 stores. Our participation in major bridal events worldwide has helped us build a reputation for quality and innovation.
What has driven me throughout this journey is a passion for creativity and the belief that every bride should feel unique on her special day. Alongside this, I’ve developed strong leadership skills, building a team that I trust to bring my creative visions to life. It hasn’t always been easy, but persistence, discipline, and a willingness to take risks have brought me to where I am today.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road—there have been many challenges along the way. One of the biggest struggles early on was entering a competitive market. When we first started importing international bridal brands, we had to prove ourselves and earn the trust of our clients in Ukraine. Later, when we launched our own production, we faced skepticism from the market. Introducing new, bold ideas, such as minimalist bridal designs, was risky because many partners and customers were used to more traditional styles. It took time for them to embrace our vision.
Another significant challenge was managing growth. As the business expanded and we launched multiple brands under Ariamo Fashion Group, I had to learn how to handle the increasing complexity of running a larger company. Scaling the business while maintaining the quality of our designs and staying true to our brand philosophy required a lot of effort. Building and managing a larger team, ensuring smooth production, and staying ahead of the competition were all hurdles I had to overcome.
Additionally, like many businesses, we faced external challenges, such as economic downturns, supply chain disruptions, and the overall unpredictability of the bridal fashion industry. However, each challenge taught me something new, and I’ve learned to adapt, stay persistent, and trust my instincts, which has ultimately helped me navigate these obstacles.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m the founder and creative director of **Ariamo Fashion Group**, a company specializing in bridal fashion with a strong focus on individuality, elegance, and timeless design. We create wedding gowns that reflect a wide range of styles, offering something for every type of bride through our four distinct brands: **Ariamo Light** (minimalist, clean designs), **Ariamo Boho** (nature-inspired bohemian gowns), **Carfelli** (luxury couture), and **Madioni** (classic and sophisticated dresses). Our goal is to ensure every bride feels unique and confident on her special day.
What sets us apart is our fearless approach to innovation. We were pioneers in introducing minimalist bridal designs to the market with Ariamo Light, a concept that was initially considered radical. Similarly, Ariamo Boho broke ground by offering a full collection dedicated to bohemian chic styles, incorporating handmade, nature-inspired details. We don’t just follow trends—we create them.
I’m most proud of the global presence we’ve built. Our designs are now sold in over 60 countries and close to 500 stores. Beyond the numbers, it’s the personal connections and relationships we’ve established with brides and partners worldwide that mean the most. We’ve managed to grow while staying true to our core values of craftsmanship, creativity, and attention to detail.
Our commitment to quality, paired with our passion for pushing the boundaries of bridal fashion, is what makes us stand out. Each dress we create tells a story, and we aim to make every bride feel not just beautiful but truly exceptional.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about your city is its unique blend of culture and creativity. There’s a vibrant energy that fuels innovation, and you can feel it in everything from the architecture to the local businesses. The city seems to be constantly evolving, offering endless inspiration, especially for someone in the fashion industry. I love how diverse and welcoming it feels—there’s always something new to discover, whether it’s a hidden art gallery, a boutique, or a great spot for fresh ideas.
As for what I like least, it would probably be the pace at times. While the fast-moving nature can be exciting, it can also feel overwhelming. The hustle and bustle can make it hard to slow down and enjoy the moment, especially when you’re trying to balance creativity with the day-to-day demands of running a business. Additionally, the traffic or crowded spaces can sometimes be a bit of a challenge when you’re navigating a busy schedule.
