We were lucky to catch up with Brian Cerezo recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Brian thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)

I came from a traditional Filipino family where my brother and I were told to chase a stable life of being a nurse. Having the stability of consistent income and flexible schedule was the driving point.

But when I started working as a nurse, I noticed that even though I like the job, I didn’t want to do it forever. That’s why I started trying to learn how to invest and find ways for my money to make more money.

And after many errors of trying penny stocks and trying to find that get rich quick scheme. I failed miserably at penny stock trading and lost a few grand in the process. That’s when I decided to change up my strategy and that’s when I learned about selling options for premium. In doing so, I am able to consistently leverage my money and stocks to create weekly income from the stock market I’ve been making anywhere from a few hundred a week to 2-3 grand a week depending on market conditions. And that’s why i have an affinity to personal finance and teaching others how to make money in the stock market.

Brian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I’m a nurse of 12 years that has a passion for personal finance. I also have a podcast called Direct Admission in which I talk with guests who are usually nurses about their side hustles and nurse jobs. The goal of the podcast is to show that you can be way more than just a nurse and also make different streams of income elsewhere as well as showing you don’t have to be stuck where you are now.

I got into the personal finance space because after some grueling days at work and feeling I wasn’t appreciated made me question if what I was doing worth it. I also felt I was underpaid and did not want to slave away to a hospital for 30 years just to just start living my life at an old age.

I dove into podcasts, books and seminars to try to find out how to invest and that’s when I landed on the stock market. I also have a big crypto and some rental properties but making money in the stock market seemed easier than the rest.

And that’s what I teach. I teach a strategy to make consistent income. It’s called the wheel strategy. It gives you to ability to sell options by using your cash or your shares of stocks for collateral to make premium also known as income. I feel like it’s the easiest way to invest for income and to collect a significant amount of money in a shorter amount of time.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I started out my investing journey trying to look for get rich quick strategies. In doing so I went into penny stocks and tried trading them without doing much research and not even understanding the stock market. Because of this, I ended up losing thousands of dollars and felt like the stock market was a scam.

But after more and more research and reading. I tried investing and the stock market once again and I found ways to make money more safely and to not look for get rich quick schemes.

Because of this, I was able to create passive income from dividends, make money from selling options and also capturing the appreciation of well researched stocks and ETFs of my choosing.

Alright – let’s talk about marketing or sales – do you have any fun stories about a risk you’ve taken or something else exciting on the sales and marketing side?

One of my favorite marketing strategies is actually showing people in person. Since I’m a nurse and love personal finance. I’m open to talking about it at work with my coworkers. A lot of my co workers ended up buying my course and now they are doing exactly what I do and some of them are actually making more money than me using the same strategy.

In proving my strategy and that my course works.My coworkers are more willing to refer out my course to their friends and family because they actually know me and therefore trust me!
