We were lucky to catch up with Justin Frost recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Justin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Growing up, I always had a deep passion for high-end fashion and sustainability, and I knew I wanted to build my own company one day. I worked in corporate marketing for five years before the pandemic struck in 2020. When it hit, I was eventually laid off from my corporate job. With limited opportunities to reenter the corporate world during that time, I decided to take a leap of faith and start my own business, Frostytch. The name stems from my childhood nickname, “Frosty,” combined with “Stitch,” reflecting my love for design. It’s pronounced Frost-Stitch.
While starting out was nerve-wracking, my strong background in marketing gave me the foundation I needed to begin building my brand.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an artist of handmade luxury goods, focusing on sustainable fashion and design. My craft revolves around transforming old or damaged items into vibrant, new creations. Each piece is meticulously crafted in-house using authentic materials such as designer bags, wallets, purses, backpacks, shopping bags, dust bags, and labels. I am deeply committed to sustainability, striving to minimize the volume of waste deposited in our landfills.
My collection features a diverse range of products, including apparel, bags, hats, accessories, leather goods, home goods, art, pet accessories and even baby clothes. While much of my work involves custom orders, I maintain a full inventory for pop-up events around the Twin Cities and regularly add new pieces to my collection. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind.
Note: Frostytch’s pieces are not related to or affiliated with any of the original designer brands.
In addition to creating luxury goods, I am also a reseller with the ability to source almost any item through my extensive network of global resellers.
Some of my proudest achievements include being featured on the CBS News and being recognized as a fashion designer for Fashion Week MN for the past two years.
I am also deeply passionate about supporting the community by actively participating in and donating to charitable events.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Pop-up events have proven to be my most successful method for attracting new clients. I travel throughout the Midwest, vending a wide range of events such as charity fundraisers, fashion shows, vintage markets, art fairs, sneaker conventions, and boutique showcases.
I truly enjoy meeting my clients face-to-face, watching them wear my products, and learning firsthand what they’re looking for. It’s always an exciting and rewarding experience!

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I maintain strong relationships with my clients and cultivate brand loyalty primarily through my social media platforms, mainly Facebook and Instagram. These channels not only feature my latest product launches but also offer an inside look at the creative process, including how I repurpose materials into new designs. Additionally, I use social media to keep my audience updated on upcoming pop-up events, exclusive releases, and special collaborations. By consistently engaging with my followers, I create a deeper connection with my brand and ensure they feel involved in the journey.
