We were lucky to catch up with Jordan Suess recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I knew when I was a 6 year old what I wanted to be when I grew up. A rapper. In 1994 being from Wyoming people ridiculed me as well as my parents. They just told me to keep at it and I did. By 16 I was performing my own original songs and by 19 was co owner of a record label. I have played my music in 43 states and have sold over 100,000 records. Goes to show what hard work and dedication will do. It was rough at times, but always worth it. I literally make a living doing what I love which only brings me complete happiness

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was born and raised in Casper Wyoming and during the Summers I would spend down in Denver Colorado. My mom and dad were both from big cities my dad being from Chicago and my mom being from New York, yet I was born in the middle of the cowboys state. Now I just think this is proof that God has a sense of humor. I had to chase my dream of becoming a rapper. And I chasrd it all right. At 16 I would drive 4 hours down interstate 25 from Casper to Denver just to sell my CDs in the malls in Denver Metro. At 19 I would drive hundreds of miles just to get the opportunity to play on a show in another state other than Colorado or Wyoming. At 25 I went on my very first tour and we hit 41 cities in 49 days ranging from the West Coast all the way to the East Coast. At 27 years old I began to solely do music for a living quitting my bartending job and focusing 100% into my craft. At 31 I was on tour 9 months out of the year and making about $60,000 on paper. In the industry a lot of your payments are cash so if you do the math right I would say I was close to six figures in 2019. The past two years have been rough because of covid-19 but I’ve been able to increase my followers online and on my social media platforms as well as go back to school for marketing to market my brand DocSuessMusic. In 2020 my longtime partners in rhyme and I converted our LLC into a corporation and I now earn a percentage of all revenue we bring in from RhymeSick Inc. None of this would have been possible if it weren’t for the fans and loyal supporters! Thank you for your continued dedication and be on the lookout for my best work yet coming this year!

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Nfts are still something that I do not quite comprehend, yet I am working diligently to have my own created and made available to my fans as we speak. I have been dabbling in crypto for years but hadn’t undergone any training or education of crypto Intel about a year ago. Now my knowledge of crypto has skyrocketed where I spend hours a day to engage in trades and I watch the market so much I completely lose my sense of time. I know that I’m not quite sure what advice to give you as far as an empty goes other than that they are the future and we can literally make everything an nft. What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Honest to God the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is when I have a fan expressing to me how my music changed their life. When a fan tells me that my song or my album is what pulled them out of the darkness and allowed them to continue on it brings tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Hands down the only reason that I ever continue to write music and express myself through my music is because of the reaction I get for my fans. If it wasn’t for my fans I wouldn’t be here. It’s so incredible that when I was a child I was able to find a way to channel my anger sadness depression happiness- all my feelings and emotions- I am truly blessed and I thank God for giving me the opportunity to change lives with my words.
