Karly, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
The idea for my business really began to take shape during the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many others, I found myself reevaluating my priorities during that time. One day, my friend Kimber reached out and asked if I could train her. It was such a natural request, and I thought, “Why not?” Soon after, my church friend and even my esthetician expressed interest in training with me as well. It started with just a few people, but quickly grew, as word-of-mouth spread. That’s when I realized there was a real need for personalized, mindful fitness coaching, especially in such a challenging and uncertain time.
The circumstances of the pandemic forced many of us to adapt to new ways of working out and staying healthy from home, and I saw this as an opportunity to offer something unique. I wasn’t just providing workouts; I was offering a space for women to feel connected, supported, and empowered during a difficult time. What started as a small group of friends quickly turned into a thriving business, and it felt like everything just flowed naturally.
What excited me most was that I could bring my passion for fitness, mental health, and holistic well-being into one cohesive approach, helping women not only achieve their fitness goals but also find balance and inner peace. It was clear to me that this was more than just a temporary solution—it was the start of something sustainable and deeply rewarding.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My journey into fitness and wellness started in my twenties. At the time, I was working as a model for different brands, paying for my university studies to become a lawyer and my travels. My initial focus was on maximizing my physical potential, as my appearance and physique were a key part of my career. However, I soon discovered that exercising did more for me than just keeping me in shape. It helped me manage my anxiety. On days when I felt overwhelmed or stressed, walking or running became my therapy. If I had a bad day, a simple walk could cure my mood.
Yoga came into my life as a blessing from God. It was the perfect tool for bringing balance to my mind, body, and spirit. But my real transformation came after becoming a mother. I faced postpartum depression, and on top of that, I was under a lot of stress. At the time, I had my own business designing uniforms for companies, and I was responsible for managing a team, taking care of my newborn, and navigating the challenges of being a single, first-time mother. It was a heavy burden, and it all caught up with me—I hit a point where I felt mentally, physically, and spiritually drained.
That breakdown was a turning point. I realized I needed to take better care of myself in a holistic way—not just physically, but mentally and emotionally as well. That’s when I truly began to focus on health and wellness as a lifestyle, rather than just a way to stay fit.
Today, as a personal trainer, yoga and Pilates instructor, and nutrition expert, I offer services that go beyond physical fitness. My goal is to help women feel stronger, more balanced, and more at peace in every aspect of their lives. I work with women, primarily between the ages of 40 and 65, providing personalized one-on-one training in yoga, Pilates, fitness, and mindfulness. I also offer nutrition coaching because I believe true wellness starts from the inside out.
What sets me apart is my understanding of how interconnected mental, physical, and spiritual health are. I’ve lived through the stress of balancing career, motherhood, and personal well-being, and I use that experience to help my clients achieve balance in their own lives. Whether they’re looking to reduce stress, build strength, or simply feel better day to day, my approach is tailored to meet their unique needs.
I’m most proud of creating a space where women can come as they are, without judgment, and receive the support they need to feel empowered. My brand is about helping women reclaim their health, not just physically but mentally and emotionally, in a personalized, compassionate way. LOVE KARLY FITNESS

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Looking back, I think the biggest pivot in my life was when I had to step into the role of both mom and dad for my son. He was only 6 years old when I started this journey, and now he’s 10. My multitasking personality, strong sense of responsibility, and entrepreneurial spirit have always driven me forward, even from a young age. Being an extrovert has made this path more enjoyable, allowing me to connect with others and find joy even in the most challenging times.
Balancing motherhood, running my own business, and staying true to my passion for health and wellness has been a journey full of adventures and plenty of challenges. There were days when it felt overwhelming, but I always knew I had to keep going, not only for myself but also for my son. What helped me the most was my faith—I truly believe that God’s guidance was always there, and I trusted the process 100%. Even when things seemed difficult, I leaned on that trust, knowing that everything was part of a bigger plan.
This pivot wasn’t just about managing a career change or starting a new business. It was about navigating life’s challenges with resilience, staying grounded in my purpose, and keeping faith through every step. It’s been tough, but incredibly rewarding.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One of the most defining moments of my journey that truly illustrates resilience was when I faced postpartum depression while also managing my business as a single mother. At the time, I had my own company designing uniforms for businesses. I was responsible for a team, managing orders, and keeping everything running smoothly, all while taking care of my newborn son. It felt like I was juggling everything at once—being both mom and dad to my son, managing my business, and trying to take care of myself.
It was overwhelming. There were days when I barely had time to breathe, and I often felt like I was running on empty. But even in the midst of all this, I knew I couldn’t give up. My entrepreneurial spirit and my strong sense of responsibility pushed me to keep going, even when it felt like everything was falling apart.
I relied on my faith in God to get me through those tough times. I trusted the process 100%
