We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kenneth Millyun a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kenneth, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Ever since I was a kid, music has always surrounded me whether it be an overshadow to fights or Laughter. The liquid courage is something (he laughed) my family would always blast oldies and I’d be in the back with my cousins, just chilling, listening to the music. That helped shake my ear and fine tune it to know what music really is. there’s places music can go that a lot of things can’t touch.
But anyways, I always enjoyed writing poetry and flipping words. I used to get wit my family, and we used to freestyle, and that sort of thing was always fun. Fast-forward I was introduced to Studio by my Homie TeeZol, and once I heard my voice back on the track and realized how it felt to put my feelings and experiences on wax, it was over from there. The rest was history.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well my name is Kenneth Millyun. I’m an artist out of North Houston. I create music that moves me, and Fortunately the music that moves me, moves my fans as well.
I’m also a student of the game.
Discipline.
That’s a keyword in my life, and what I pride myself on practicing.
Music is my main thing though.
It’s like a canvas of all my experiences, and emotions, and when I’m done, however it looks, it is what it is, And that’s something I can be proud of with my music ,and if it just so happens To help one of my fans out, that’ll be the icing on the cake.
I use my music also as self therapy, self reflection, just to be better than what I was before. Sometimes you just have to get something out whether it be on paper or MP3.
Which brings me to the new single I just dropped, which is called
“Tears Of Nirvana”.
When y’all get a chance, Go check it out, on all streaming platforms.
It’s performing really well on Spotify.
Without spoiling what the song is really about, it’s a perfect interpretation of everything I just said earlier.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Hmmm..
I know off rip I strive to be a god MC.
But along with that, I believe my purpose with music is to connect with people in the way that my favorite artists have done for me.
They’re music has helped me through Some difficult times.
To return that favor to someone else would be spectacular to me.
Music has to connect!
That’s been my whole thing whether it be one person all the way to 100,000, and more,I want to make my fans stay.
Be with me for the long haul.
Longevity is what I strive for.
The music industry nowadays is not really about talent, but the one thing you’re talent can get you as longevity.

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Marketing!!!
Yeah I wish I knew more about Marketing when I started.
Some artists don’t understand how Important Marketing is.
And even if you know it’s important, are you doing it right?
That’s the question, because the marketing Industry side of things is oversaturated with loads of marketing companies, and going with the right one is the question as well.
You could always market yourself, but then that’s trial and error.
You gotta figure out what works for you.
So If you’re starting music, my advice to you is focus on your craft and focus on marketing.
