We were lucky to catch up with Charita Nicole recently and have shared our conversation below.

Charita, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?

My brand began as a livelihood. A triumphant story that you could only imagine had very humble beginnings. I started out as a child, performing, singing, dancing, and creating in every form I knew. I believe a person to be closest to their soul purpose around this time. I grew up writing poetry and drawing cartoons as means for comfort and expression. Along with my innate creative nature and as a result of those humble beginnings, I was also nurtured to be of service. To help, care for, and love people. Then, I was granted the opportunity to share my testimony at the age of 16 and realized I had the ability to inspire people. People connected and related with me through my learned experiences… After that moment, the question, “how can I combine all my gifts under one roof?” came to me. That’s when ACreativesLifestyle was birthed. My brand is not something… it’s who I am. And because there are so many caps to wear: artist, writer, painter, storyteller, dancer, model, and few others that I’ve added as I’ve gotten older, I chose not to put a label on myself or my brand. Instead, I like to focus on what ACreativeslifestyle represents. And that means being the example I want to see in the world. It means being a symbol of transformation. Of hope. Of light. Love. Authenticity. Creativity. Beauty. Inspiration…. of God. I created this space for me to be ALL that I am. To have the sacred space to share with no limitations, and if there are people who can be transformed and inspired by it, then I am doing my part.

Charita, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hi, I am Charita! Born and raised in Memphis, TN. I am an artist, writer/storyteller, painter, model, visionary, spokesperson, performer, and whatever else I choose to add along the way. My brand, ACreativeslifestyle, is a cumulation of all of these things, offering products such as my book “Journey to Self” (can be purchased on Amazon), paintings, writing services such as songwriting, poetry, articles, etc., dance choreography, modeling services, but most importantly, the service to share and inspire. ACreativeslifestyle does not have a specific niche; it appeals to everyone from all walks of life, including and especially the outcasts, the black sheep, the “weird” or “indifference”, and the overlooked underdogs.

I am most proud of the progress my brand has made since created in 2020. From the people I’ve worked and connected with, to those who have purchased and enjoyed any of my offerings, and/or those who have gifted me the space to share my story and expand in my community, my craft, and supporters, I am deeply grateful. My sole mission is to inspire and encourage people to journey to the depths of their own self-discovery to find their purpose in this life. We all have one, and it is meant to be shared. ACreativeslifestyle represents complete authenticity. A message to you that there are no limits to what you can BE or achieve with devotion and a pure heart.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

There isn’t much of a story on how I built my community on social media. It’s quite simple actually; I just remain consistent and stay true to myself. And when I say consistent, I don’t mean keeping up appearances. It is so easy to get lost in the pressures of unrealistic expectations set by social media. It’s important to remember the “quality over quantity” rule. It’s the IMPACT of what you create that matters most. The numbers, followers, and likes become of least importance when this is realized. The most significant advice I can give to any and all upcoming businesses is to believe in yourself and what you have to offer, create from the heart, and no matter what, KEEP GOING.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Something I had to unlearn was taking so many of other people’s advice on how I should walk my path. The journey is not linear. There are many twists and turns, but no matter how many reroutes you take, all roads lead to where you’re meant to be. I did not come from a home where creative dreams were actively chased. Most conformed to the social norm. But me, I desired more. I was meant for more. I could not settle for a mediocre life. So, I took a different turn. A turn that since most people had not walked, I was singlehandedly paving on my own. I had to relearn how to trust myself despite all those in my ear persuading me toward what they felt was best. I had to relearn how to listen to and create from my heart. My heart is what led me here and it’s this inner compass that will continue to guide me on the path forward.
