Brittany , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?

One of the biggest trends I have been seeing in the beauty industry is an emphasis on natural beauty! A natural brow enhanced by a Brow Lamination, with a lash lift “no mascara” look, plus a bold lip is taking over Fall 2024! I love that I provide services that are individually tailored to each client’s wants/needs but also can compliment the upcoming trends! My services are low maintenance, last 6-8 weeks and are suitable for everyone.

I have been an esthetician who specializes in brows and lashes for 2 years! I have owned my own storefront since the beginning of 2024. I am located in Midtown, KCMO. As a brow artist and small business owner, I excel in transforming not just brows but also the confidence of my clients. My keen eye for detail and artistry allows me to create perfectly sculpted brows that enhance each person’s unique features. My commitment to exceptional customer service and a welcoming atmosphere sets me apart, making every client feel valued and beautiful. Through passion and dedication, I have built a thriving business that reflects skill and creativity with the objective to help other beauty professionals to do the same!

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

Once, I found myself working in a corporate telecommunications job, where the days blended into a routine of meetings and cold calling. While the work was stable, I felt unfulfilled, longing for a more creative and personal connection with my daily tasks.

I had always loved skincare and makeup, and the idea of helping others feel confident and radiant resonated deeply.

After some soul-searching, I enrolled in an esthetics program. Balancing my corporate job with full time day classes was challenging, but every moment spent learning about skin types, treatments, and techniques felt invigorating. I met like-minded individuals who shared my passion, and their enthusiasm fueled my own.

As graduation approached, I knew I had found a love for brows and could see myself pursuing that niche full time. The thought of completing leaving the security of my job was daunting, but the allure of a fulfilling career in esthetics was undeniable. So I made the jump.

I built my esthetics business from the ground up. I started small, offering services to friends and family, and slowly grew my clientele through word of mouth. Each treatment I performed solidified my decision; I was finally doing what I loved.

Now, I wake up each day to my very own brandr excited to help people feel beautiful and confident with the enhancement that brows and lashes can make—knowing that I took the leap to follow my passion. Leaving the corporate world was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

Unlearning perfection as a business owner has led to greater innovation and adaptability in myself and my business. Letting go of control has things propel themself in a positive direction, whereas being in control, sometimes can hold you back. When I first started, I remember being so worried about the aesthetic of the space, the appearance of myself, and what others would think. But as I have gained confidence, perfection has followed without the pressure of trying to make everything perfect right out the gate.
