We recently connected with Kelli Miller and have shared our conversation below.
Kelli, appreciate you joining us today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
I don’t believe there was one defining moment but rather a series of them that led me to become a full-time psychotherapist. I believe with each challenge we go through, it adds to our depth and understanding of how that particular struggle is for others. So after several challenges in my life, I felt closer connected to humanity and what we are go through as a collective. I knew I wanted to help others.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a psychotherapist and author. I recently authored “Love Hacks: Simple Solutions to Your Most Common Relationship Issues” which details the top 15 most common relationship issues and 3 solutions to each. I’m also the award-winning author of “Thriving with ADHD” which is a workbook for kids. I am a columnist for Psychology Today (“Love Hacks”) and I am a brand ambassador for for wikiHOw.com. focusing on relationships.
In my private practice, I work with individuals and couples. I find psychology and people fascinating and I’m grateful to help others.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could back, I believe I would follow this same path and become a psychotherapist and author. I did try out a few different careers before this one and I’m grateful I had those opportunities because I believe it made me a richer and more developed therapist. I am a big believer in going after your dreams and there is no “failure” but more one step closer to success.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
I believe what helped me build a reputation within my market was perseverance, confidence, and authenticity. I worked hard after grad school to set up my own private practice by talking to others in the field, figuring out my niche, and trusting the process. I had to have confidence in my career and how I could help others. Finally, by being authentic, I felt my clients could trust me and my practice.
