We were lucky to catch up with Nathalie Lacombe recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nathalie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
Providing insightful and meaningful workplace wellness experiences is definitely enhanced by my 20+ years working in the fitness industry. Many in workplace wellness focus on either only inspiration or fear-mongering towards better well-being. My background in exercise psychology affords me the perspective of breaking down health-related behavior change into actionable steps that are both relevant and accessible to the audience. The “best” wellness tip will always be the one that fits simply into your life; once you do it consistently, it builds self-confidence and momentum toward the next step.
The standard in wellness tends to be the shock value of “all or nothing” behaviors when we know that most people can benefit tremendously from compassionate coaching and simple changes. My “it depends” answer to a question relating to wellness differs from the industry standard, but life and health are full of nuance. Workplaces are now looking for partners and speakers who won’t frighten their employees by making changes but rather meet them where they’re at and help them make the next right choice that will impact both their personal and professional lives.

Nathalie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
After earning psychology and exercise science degrees, I’ve spent my career helping people live healthier, happier lives. I’ve worked my way up in the fitness industry, from instructor to executive, and was even the VP of canfitpro, Canada’s biggest fitness certification provider.
I’ve always focused on making fitness fun and rewarding throughout my journey. When the pandemic hit, and gyms closed, I shifted my focus to workplace wellness. I saw a huge need for health coaching to support people’s physical, mental, and social well-being. So, instead of just sculpting bodies, I started helping people save lives. I moved away from making fit people fitter and focused on providing practical tools for everyone to improve their overall health.
As an award-winning speaker, I’ve given over 350 workplace wellness workshops on stress management, work-life balance, sleep, relationships, and more. I’m all about providing practical strategies to help you make wellness a part of your everyday life. Whether you’re struggling with motivation or need a little push, I’m here to help.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
After spending over two decades in the fitness industry, I had to build a whole new network when I transitioned to workplace wellness. I needed to connect with HR professionals, a completely different audience.
The answer was a top-notch website and expertly crafted Google Ads. I teamed up with a digital marketing firm to create both, and it’s been a game-changer. Nearly 90% of my new clients come from Google Ads, which has led to fantastic discovery calls and closed deals. Thanks to these qualified leads, I’m already on track to surpass my 2024 revenue goals by 25%.
I always strive to exceed my clients’ expectations during my workplace wellness workshops, which has led to repeat business. But with a steady stream of new leads, I can now be more selective about the clients and contracts I take on.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I show my appreciation to every client by sharing a post on LinkedIn after their workshop. I include photos, a recap of the event, and a thank you to the person who invited me.
To build brand loyalty, I consistently provide valuable wellness content. I create short “Wellness Snacks” on my YouTube channel, which I share via email and social media. These snacks are based on frequently asked questions or topics that resonated most during the workshops.
I demonstrate the real benefits of genuine workplace wellness by sharing information on new workshops and data that can help clients attract and retain top talent.
