We were lucky to catch up with Nicolette Gazsi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicolette, thanks for joining us today. Alright, let’s take a stroll on memory lane, back to when you were an apprentice or intern. What’s a memorable story from that time that you can share with us?
The company where I had my first internship became the first client of my marketing studio, Refine Projects. In spring 2016, after persistently emailing my favorite brands, I landed an internship at For Love & Lemons. I spent several months as a social media and e-commerce intern, then transitioned to leading their social media. After four years, I moved on to work with major brands like FRAME, Cult Gaia, and Good American.
In 2024, For Love & Lemons reached out to me to lead their marketing again, which inspired me to launch my studio—making them my first client.

Nicolette, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Refine Projects is a marketing studio shaping the future of modern brands and their communities. We bring campaigns to life with innovative, multi-channel strategies that leave a lasting mark in the hearts of communities and drive meaningful business impact.
With nearly a decade of marketing experience in fashion, I’ve worked for some of the top industry’s brands and founders. My expertise lies in social media fluency and popular culture. Through creative direction, compelling storytelling, and content innovation, Refine inspires today’s audiences and builds connections with future generations.
I launched my studio to extend my impact across multiple brands, rather than focusing on just one.
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
I have two key business partners, one specializing in Media Relations and the other in Communications. One of them reached out to me on LinkedIn, looking to connect, and the other is someone I had the opportunity to work with earlier in my career.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before founding Refine Projects, I worked in-house for various brands. My experiences with internal team dynamics provided valuable lessons in collaboration and effectiveness in a constantly evolving digital landscape, ultimately inspiring me to start my own business.
What I value most about Refine is the freedom to choose my collaborators and the authority to implement efficient processes. I work with talented and inspiring individuals, fostering productive partnerships that enable us to create exceptional work.
