We recently connected with Roshunda Allen & Grace Johnson and have shared our conversation below.
Roshunda & Grace, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
About 4 1/2 years we had a friend who needed assistance with opening up his mobile tire shop business. His main issue as a business owner was, he didn’t know what direction to take with starting his business. He also needed an affordable and reliable assistant. We put together a solid plan, and our unique business concept was born. We knew that serving the small business industry was in desperate need of help. Honestly, we knew we weren’t solving a problem because there are other VA’s and Content Creators out there, but to our knowledge there wasn’t a business that encompassed both.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourselves to our readers.
We are a management firm that assist small to medium size businesses with administrative services, meaning anything an executive assistant would do for a senior level employee. We also offer social media content creation and branding services. These include, but aren’t limited to logo conceptualization, content for social media, websites etc. We pride ourselves by offering both services under one umbrella. We solve a myriad of problems for our clients, keeping their business calendars up to date, emails organized, creating brand specific content to post on their social media pages frequently and keep up with small tasks they may forget.
Can you tell us the story behind how you two met and became business partners?
We met in 2001 at Concord Church in Dallas, TX. Roshunda had joined the church and became a youth leader. She is a small woman with a powerful and passionate voice. She got my attention one Wednesday night at our youth choir practice with her voice and initially I was intimidated by her, but she took me under her wing and became my mentor. Fast forward 20 years, and our friendship/sistership has remained intact. It has all blossomed into a great working relationship, that works for us, very much like a well-oiled machine.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word of mouth! We have been blessed to have clients that trust us and also praise us for our work, we do for them. Our clients are not just local, in Dallas, we service clients from all over the United States. Our passion for what we do shows in our work ethic. Simply put, we want small businesses to excel and flourish to their greatest potential.
