We recently connected with Fayth Hand and have shared our conversation below.
Fayth, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I manage all my own social media. Personally I feel like running my own social media allows me to stand out by constantly being myself and adding in a personal touch to my business pages. I’ve organically grown my social media presence and I feel like it’s been successful in my eyes.
With a pool full of people in the same industry, and everyone trying to stand out doing the same thing on instagram, it can be tough! But when you can put a personal touch on it, people (customers) are more likely to be drawn to that because they already feel like they know and trust you. It comes with its struggles because social media adds a whole entire job to your list of things to do, but it can very much be worth it!

Fayth, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Fayth, and I own Flawless by Fayth in Fort Collins. I am a licensed esthetician and I specialize in lash extensions but I also offer other lash and brow services as well. I’ve been in business for almost 5 years, I opened my business right in the heat of 2020 shutting down all salons in Colorado due to COVID. We have come a long way! I chose this industry because I wanted to be able to create my own schedule and pay, while also being able to make women feel beautiful and empowered. I create custom looks for every clients personal face & eye shape to enhance their natural beauty. I pride myself in having very thorough consultations to make sure every client leaves happy with their service and gets their desired result!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is one of my favorite topics to touch on because I grew my social media from scratch in a new city starting a brand new business!
My best advice is to stay resilient and keep pushing! Customers are going to pick the person they’re seeing the most often. If they follow multiple people in the same industry, but they’re seeing you posting more often than anyone else, they’re more likely to choose you just because you’ll be the first to come to mind.
Follow other small businesses in your area and support them as well!
Add a personal touch to your social media too, your followers want to get to know the person behind the brand! They’ll feel like they already know you before choosing your business.
Utilize geotags & hashtags to reach more people in your area.
Don’t give up! Social media can be hard, but very rewarding. I’ve built most of my business off of instagram alone.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Being in the lash industry, you see your clients more often than other industries. We see our clients anywhere from every 2-6 weeks depending on the type of service they’re receiving. With that being said, you want to build a community and connection with your clients. It’s can be east to gain a clientele, but you want to maintain and nurture your current clients as much as you do your new ones as well!
I do referral discounts for my clients, so if they refer a friend, they will BOTH receive a discount on their next service. This keeps both customers happy!
If a client comes in on their birthday week I try to notate it in my notes so I can get them a small gift if they see me that week as well.
For Christmas I give all my clients a small thank you card with a gift card in it for a coffee on me!
It’s always my goal to make clients feel like more than just another client when they see me, and these small gestures help with maintaining that goal.
