We recently connected with By Niki and have shared our conversation below.
Niki, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
Actually few things we do differently in By Niki Photography Team. First of all we are always available thanks to professional photographers we have on board.
And when it comes to photography that’s not quite the usual thing.
Another difference is prepared Photography Scenario for our Clients.
In it we gather ideas for sessions together with props, outfits, make up recommendations and much more.
Our Clients admitted many times they have never seen nothing like that before.
I simply like to go the extra mile, that’s why this idea.
On the top of that, I also offer video calls inside our Clients closets and we go through outfits, to see if there is something photo shoot ready in case we won’t find anything I suggest shopping.
Niki, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I created By Niki Photography Team at the beginning of 2016 with base in Houston, few months later I added Miami as a second town, because of it’s unique look in background on photographs. Things changed a bit through years and now Miami is our main photography hub. Thanks to professional photographers working in our Team, we are always available. I am beyond grateful for each of them.
We are serving Clients from Florida but also from whole nation and Canada.
We shoot everything form Couples, Family, Surprisal Engagements and Weddings but also popular are photo sessions for Social Media content and Dating Apps.
Myself as a leading photographer and the only editor/retoucher in By Niki Photography Team I help our Clients to achieve perfect pictures.
Sometimes I slim down/lift some body parts or fully move the ocean level for wall art prints so all pictures have same looking horizon behind all family members.
When I stand behind camera I like to play around with new features, create wall artwork ready to print or when in studio alone, I love to work on new collections with my own head off or two different halves of me portraits. Also I am addicted to photo animations/gifs. Most current work you can see on Instagram, the girl in a pink suit.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is each message sent from our Clients after the Collections were delivered, from all type of emails like ‘this exceeded our expectations completely’ to one particular feedback I still have in mind. Back in December I was shooting Family at the beach. Nobody expected that cute 4 years old boy would want to run away during full photo session time.
All I did was mostly running behind him with camera, trying to play tag game etc. Long story short I received one of the most beautiful emails from his Mother. She admitted while seeing the Collection tears were running down her face and it was impossible to say he was chased by me, and it can only remain our secret.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
There is only one best strategy I know, for growing clientele, the word of mouth. Nobody is going to do better advertisement than happy Clients. And luckily we attract such a lovely people to work with. More over we become great friends with many Clients, meeting together in New York City or recently I was invited to Tulum, Mexico to one of a good friends by now.
