Ujjwal, appreciate you joining us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?

I began my journey as a self-taught artist from a young age, earning the playful title of “bathroom singer” early on. Despite this light-hearted teasing, my passion for singing and performing has been a constant driving force in my life. I have always been drawn to the spotlight, eager to take center stage and lead from the front. This desire to share my voice and connect with an audience has been at the core of my artistic endeavors for as long as I can remember.

Reflecting on my journey, there is little I would change, even with the benefit of hindsight. However, one area I wish I had focused more on is writing and releasing my original music earlier in my career. Creating and sharing original compositions would have allowed me to express my unique voice and connect with my audience on a deeper level. It would have also helped establish my identity as an artist more firmly.

The ability to express oneself authentically and to collaborate with the right people is crucial in this field. Surrounding yourself with supportive and like-minded individuals can significantly enhance your creative process and professional growth. However, this can be a challenging endeavor, especially when financial resources are limited at the start of a career. Balancing the pursuit of artistic collaborations with financial constraints is often a delicate and difficult process, but one that can ultimately shape a stronger, more resilient artist.

One of the biggest obstacles I faced was finding the right balance between my passion for music and my academic pursuits. Learning and growing in my craft often required sacrifices in other areas of my life. Although I did make some compromises, I prioritized my education alongside my artistic development. In hindsight, I believe this was the right choice. It allowed me to cultivate a more well-rounded perspective and equipped me with the skills necessary to navigate both creative and professional landscapes.

In terms of essential skills, being able to articulate my artistic vision and communicate effectively with others were pivotal. Additionally, developing resilience and perseverance helped me navigate the inevitable challenges and setbacks. Every step of my journey, including the obstacles I encountered, contributed to the artist and person I am today.

My journey into the music industry was largely self-initiated. Driven by an innate love for singing and performing, I began exploring my vocal abilities on my own. Over time, I honed my skills and sought opportunities to perform and share my passion with others. Despite the challenges of starting out without formal training or resources, I remained committed to my dream of making a mark in the music world.

What truly sets me apart is my unwavering dedication to authenticity and self-expression. My goal is to create music that not only entertains but also touches hearts and minds. as well as motivates you to better yourself. Moreover, I am proud of my ability to lead and perform with passion, drawing on my own experiences and emotions to deliver performances that are both powerful and relatable.

Challenges and Overcoming Obstacles:

One of the biggest challenges I faced was balancing my artistic pursuits with my academic responsibilities. While pursuing a music career often demands full-time dedication, I chose to prioritize my education as well, believing it was essential for my overall growth. This decision required careful time management and some compromises, but looking back, I am confident it was the right path for me. It has allowed me to approach my craft with a broader perspective and deeper understanding.

What I’m Most Proud Of:

I am not particularly proud of the accolades or praises I’ve received in music; instead, I take pride in the friendships I’ve built, the unwavering support of my family, especially my mother, and the strength I’ve drawn from my professional career. My friends have been a vital source of encouragement and inspiration, standing by me through both challenges and successes. Their presence has kept me grounded and motivated, reminding me of the importance of staying true to myself. The people in my life and the experiences I’ve shared with them mean more to me than any external recognition. Their support has allowed me to pursue my passions with authenticity and integrity, making these relationships and personal growth the true markers of my success.

There was a pivotal moment in my life when I realized that to truly thrive in my creative pursuits, I needed to be in a strong position financially, physically, and mentally. I understood that maintaining this balance required more than just focusing on my artistic goals; it meant dedicating myself to my education and professional development as well. I decided to prioritize my studies and build a stable career, not as a diversion from my passion, but as a foundation that would enable me to pursue it fully and sustainably. This shift in perspective allowed me to view my academic and professional achievements as stepping stones rather than distractions. By investing time and effort into these areas, I equipped myself with the resources and resilience needed to support my artistic journey. It was a challenging balancing act, but ultimately, it gave me the freedom to focus on my music and creative work without compromising my personal stability and well-being.

There was a point in my journey when things became so tough that I seriously considered throwing in the towel. In fact, I didn’t just consider it, I actually tried quitting! I thought, “Maybe it’s time to pack up my dreams and find something less emotionally taxing, like competitive knitting.” But, much to my surprise, I just couldn’t walk away. The truth is, being an artist isn’t just something I do; it’s an intrinsic part of who I am. It’s like a stubborn piece of glitter that, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t shake off.

Even during the lowest points, when it felt easier to give up, I realized that the ups and downs are all part of this journey. So, instead of quitting, I’ve embraced the grind, chipping away daily to become the best artist I can be—and maybe even more. It’s a bit like sculpting: you take the rough edges, the challenging times, and keep refining, knowing that with each small step, you’re shaping something extraordinary.
