Tyenisha , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How do you feel about asking friends and family to support your business? What’s appropriate, what’s not? Where do you draw the line?

I strongly believe that your target audience is not your family whatsoever , I will say however your target audience should be your friends in most cases, simply because you get to choose who your friends are versus family is not chosen . Once you start to realize this very early on in your career the better. Most the time your target audience is people you do not know , strangers. I have had alot of success moving out of my city and hometown to servicing complete strangers, who support and show up like no other.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I have always been passionate about natural skincare, beauty etc . I initially wanted to become a professional makeup artist after getting my start on youtube making tutorials back in 2015 , I went and researched how to go about it the right way and some kind of way i stumbled upon esthetician schools. I decided to enroll and became more passionate about skincare and facials . I became very known for using natural skincare products and being able to heal peoples skin with natural organic facials. I am most proud of being my authentic self and not copying anyone, just stayed true to what i was passionate about.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Saved saved saved my money ! I didnt take out any loans or anything, but we are also talking about almost 10 years ago , i honestly only started out with $500 to purchase my machines and products and built my way from there.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

Social media and word of mouth has been my biggest source for new clients.
