Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Grace Finley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Grace, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I aspire to be remembered for the love, acceptance, and support I offered. We are all uniquely made, come from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Despite our differences, many of us share similar struggles. As a trainer, it is my hope that every individual I work with feels valued, cared for, and empowered to realize they are much stronger than they may believe.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am the owner of Grace Fitness, an exclusive fitness studio in Olathe, KS. With over 13 years of experience as a personal trainer and a background as a physical therapist assistant, I bring a deeper understanding of the body and the necessary modifications to support individual needs.
My personal journey of losing over 50 lbs and lowering my blood pressure through lifestyle changes fuels my passion for health and fitness.
At Grace Fitness, we offer group classes and one-on-one training within a supportive and welcoming community. Our goal is to shift the focus from temporary goals such as fitting into a dress or preparing for a reunion, to bigger picture of fitness-building strength and ensuring the best quality of life for as long as possible. It’s about maintaining independence and functionality throughout life.
Remember , it’s not about striving for perfection, but about staying consistent. When motivation fades, discipline will carry you through.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The most effective way I’ve gained new clients has been through word of mouth and social media. When you prioritize your clients’ well-being and genuinely show that you care, they naturally become advocates for your business.
It’s also essential that clients see results. Connecting them with nutrition support and ensuring consistency in their workouts are key factors in helping them reach their goals and maintaining their long-term success.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I first opened Grace Fitness, my primary focus was on one-on-one training, with just two group classes on the schedule. However, over time, the demand for group classes grew significantly. Members were drawn to the group format not only because it was more cost-effective, but also because they enjoyed the camaraderie of working out with others.
When you start a business, you have a specific vision in mind, but as it evolves, that vision may shift. The key is to grow with your business to stay relevant and meet the needs of your clients.
