Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Trey Guess. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Trey, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today To kick things off, we’d love to hear about things you or your brand do that diverge from the industry standard
One thing I do differently — that has turned out to be a massive success — is utilizing your personality and putting that at the forefront. I do this by making creative content that not only promotes my business, but also me as the agent. Being likable takes you very far, especially if you’re just getting started as a new agent.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a Real Estate agent that covers the Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston metroplexes. I help people buy and sell their home while ensuring they’re enjoying every bit of the process!
What sets me apart from others is the authenticity I possess. I do everything in my power to make sure my clients are taken care of. For example, I have helped clients move their furniture in their house after the close of their home!
I started off working at Toyota as a salesmen for my first sales job. I quit after a year to sell solar panels. A few months of not liking the dynamic, I decided to pursue real estate after talking with my family.
After getting licensed, I decided to take my marketing a different route after seeing a few real estate agents marketing themselves and their properties in a complete unorthodox way.
I decided to give it a shot, and went viral across the nation on Tik Tok and multiple other platforms.
I am naturally a goofy individual, so I market properties with lots of humor, and people absolutely love it.
This enabled me to gain hundreds of thousands of followers and boost my business immensely!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Being able to extract positive emotions from people that I see in real life, and people that consume my content have helped me build my reputation within the market. I am respected by many different agents across plenty brokerages, title companies, lenders and more. No matter what city I am servicing, I always get recognized by supporters that tell me how much they enjoy my content. Having a personal brand is more important than a business brand because at that point, you have a greater of succeeding at whatever venture you decide to pursue.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
So there’s two parts to growing your clientele effectively: acquiring and maintaining.
First, you need to figure how to set yourself apart from the masses to make you more desirable. You don’t want to be a copy and paste version of someone else. Look at the competition and think to yourself, “what is my competition doing that I can do better, or different?”
Second, which is the most important part, is to DO GOOD BUSINESS. That is what is going to ensure you keep gaining new clientele. There is no point in gaining clientele if you do poorly in your job. Bad business spreads like wildfire, and will kill your career.
You want them to trust you with their funds as much as they trust you with their emotions. The only way to accomplish that is to provide service so good that they couldn’t imagine themselves or anyone they know, using someone else.
