We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jessenia Galvan-Lloyd. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jessenia below.
Jessenia, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
I have just gone through one of the most challenging years of my life. I started my podcast, One Wild Ride – the podcast on Spotify, in September of 2023. A month later it felt like the ground was ripped out from under me and I was launched into a series of the most challenging things I have ever experienced in my life.
I didn’t know if I could keep showing up for this podcast with everything that I was going through. But I told myself that I made a commitment to do so. So week after week, I created these episodes that allowed me to take all of the lessons that I was learning from these challenges, and lessons that I’ve learned throughout my wild life, and create something positive from them. Each week I used my podcast as an outlet to connect to my community, keep myself uplifted, and hopefully shed a little light into a world that can feel so challenging.
I know that I’m not alone in my challenges so I hope that this podcast gives my listeners as much comfort as it gives me to create these episodes.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a life coach, aspiring healer, podcast host and poet. I love creating space for healing and growth! Whether that’s in my coaching sessions, my events I host, in my writing or on my podcast, One Wild Ride – the podcast!
I love taking my own life experiences and turning them into something healing and empowering! I love showing up in many ways to support my community with my healing tools and creative expression. My goal is always to lift my community up!
I’m proud of the breakthroughs my clients have in our one-on-one sessions. I’m proud of my own growth through this one wild ride called life. I’m extremely proud of my consistent effort on my two passion projects. The first being my podcast. The second being my upcoming debut book of poetry, Bloom Babygirl! The process of focusing on these two projects has been so deeply gratifying. I aim to show that you can turn darkness into light through both of these projects. I would love to say that I accomplished that!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
This past year has challenged me in ways I couldn’t even imagine. I have been through more than I thought I could handle. But through that, I have used all of the tools at my disposal and showed up and confronted every challenge head on. I kept telling myself that this was happening for me and not to me. So as I dealt with the challenges I also developed skills that I always wanted and in the process became more of the person I’d always dreamed of being.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I definitely had to unlearn that creativity wasn’t important. I would constantly minimize my creativity, I put my projects on the back burner and I belittled my creative talents. It’s really through the challenges of this past year that I realized how vital creativity is to my well-being. I also realized how much comfort and support other people’s creative works give me when times are hard.
I really opened my eyes to the concept of creativity being service. As I allowed myself to create more and more I felt more alive and connected to myself.
Now my creativity is flooding in. And I am so excited for all the projects that are coming with that!
