We recently connected with Jessica Vicars and have shared our conversation below.
Jessica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to leave a legacy of joy, where people remember me as someone who brought light and laughter to this world. Before starting my business, I thought a lot about where I wanted my career to go next and how I ultimately wanted my career to be a part of my legacy. I realized I wanted to start a business that would inspire joy, build a brand that would make people smile, and be a constant reminder to celebrate the little moments and create those truly special memories with your friends and family.
If my legacy is one of joy, fun, and the celebration of life’s little moments, I’ll know I’ve made a lasting impact.

Jessica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the Founder of Confetti Jar, and we are on a mission to make planning parties for kids easier for parents – and so much fun! Birthday parties are such special moments for kids, but unfortunately planning and hosting them can be so stressful for parents. Parents spend weeks and months searching for birthday party ideas, asking in social media groups, bouncing around to a ton of different websites, making dozens of calls – all to find the perfect party venue or entertainment, bakeries, decorations, rentals, and everything they need to celebrate their child.
We are taking the stress out of party planning with a single destination for parents to find and book everything they need for kids’ birthday parties. Confetti Jar is the new platform for parents to find everything for parties for kids, allowing them to plan in minutes as opposed to weeks and months.
For parents looking for an easy, all-inclusive solution, they can find just the right party place and package. For parents seeking an at home party with entertainment, kids party rentals, themed decorations, balloons and backdrops, and of course the matching birthday cake – they can find it all on Confetti Jar.
I am so proud that we are solving a problem for parents that allows them to have more fun celebrating their kids. Birthdays are a time to celebrate joy and togetherness, but the pressure of organizing everything can turn an exciting occasion into an overwhelming task. By simplifying the process, parents can focus on creating lasting memories, building stronger family connections, and ensuring their child feels loved and celebrated.
I also value supporting our local businesses by creating a cost-effective marketing and advertising solution for them. Prior to Confetti Jar, I spent 15 years in marketing and product management in the tech space. Now, I am using my deep marketing expertise to help small businesses grow and thrive. Advertising is becoming more and more complex and expensive, which presents a particularly challenging dynamic for small business owners. We are creating a cost-effective advertising channel for local business that allows them to promote their business at just the right time – when parents are planning birthday parties.
It’s such a blessing to lead a business that is helping families and business owners.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Just get started! A strong social media presence is so important for businesses in today’s market. This is where your potential customers will go to learn more about you and your business. This is how they will know if they feel a connection – or not – to your business. It’s a great marketing channel and source for establishing your brand identity.
Social media was the first place I started as I began to build my business. I started by interviewing businesses in the kids’ party space and sharing their stories. I recommend others start by sharing information that establishes their expertise and builds credibility in their space. It doesn’t have to be perfect – and certainly won’t at first, but the important thing is to start. Be authentic and use social media to build relationships with customers. Establish a strategic and intentional plan for how you will use Reels, Posts and Stories, and then stay consistent. Also, be sure to connect with and support other businesses in your industry.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I talk with my clients regularly and also seek feedback from them. Giving clients the opportunity to be heard and showing that you are listening to their feedback is so important for building loyalty. I also connect with them through regular networking events and in person meetings.
