We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Doc Murphy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Doc, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today undefined
Years ago, instead of following the advice of gurus to launch “BIG”, I decided to simplify our church and business planting model. Rather than aiming for large-scale launches, we focused on establishing small churches and businesses in multiple locations. Our approach was to “birth rabbits instead of elephants” – meaning we aimed for quicker and more sustainable growth. For example, instead of investing in expensive facilities for gatherings, we began utilizing untraditional spaces such as coffee shops, co-working spaces with meeting rooms, and free or inexpensive venues. By keeping everything simple, we have successfully started many churches using this model.

Doc, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
ABOUT DOC MURPHY
Born in Longview, Texas, Doc and Mary Murphy are apostolic pioneers called to shape the spiritual landscape of America by building God’s Kingdom. As founders and apostles of The Everywhere Network (TEN), headquartered in Plano, Texas, they minister with a powerful grace for apostolic leadership and teaching. The Murphys are more than average leaders; they are pioneers, trailblazers, and legacy builders, called to ignite movements and shift spiritual paradigms. With a heart for coaching, both in business and ministry, they are catalysts for change, aligning people’s lives, churches, and regions with God’s divine plans and purposes.
Their mission? To create lasting change by planting transformative churches, mentoring Kingdom entrepreneurs (Kingdompreneurs), writing anthems of worship, correcting doctrinal misunderstandings, and equipping the Body of Christ to usher in the end-time reformation. The Murphys’ work is focused on more than just local influence; they are committed to impacting the nation.
In 1996, they pioneered their first church, Outreach Tabernacle, where they raised an army of believers empowered to walk in their calling and covenant rights. By 1998, the church had relaunched and rapidly expanded to two campuses, becoming one of the most influential churches in the region. In 2008, they relocated to Plano, Texas, and in 2010, they planted The Place International Church, which later became The Place Church, with locations in both Longview and Plano.
Over the years, the Murphys have planted more than 20 churches, spreading across Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas, Alabama, Iowa, California, and more. But they aren’t stopping there—The Everywhere Network’s mission is to plant churches in every state, with a vision to establish over 19,000 churches nationwide before the return of Jesus Christ. They are dedicated to multiplying smaller church plants that, in turn, plant new churches, creating a powerful movement that extends far beyond the walls of any one congregation. As Doc Murphy says, “We’re not just building churches, we’re creating movements.”
Successful Kingdompreneurs, the Murphys have produced over 10 gospel albums, written more than 300 songs, and founded a non-accredited Bible school and a business school called Widman University. Their literary contributions are equally impressive, with more than 70 books to their name.
Their legacy is deeply rooted in their passion to see others worship God fervently and fulfill their divine purpose. Their mantra is simple yet profound: “Our legacy is to help you build your legacy.”
Recently, they launched Everywhere Worship + Everywhere Music, a dynamic movement of singers from across the nation and different countries coming together to create a sound that reflects Kingdom culture, spreading God’s presence everywhere they go.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Our most effective strategy involves running a consistent flow of Facebook and Instagram ads. Additionally, my wife and I regularly travel from city to city to host seminars, conferences, and concerts. This allows us to organically promote our name and brand while also leveraging social media.

Any advice for managing a team?
“We consistently train our team and create a culture of unity, excellence, service, and hard work. We keep the vision in front of them and encourage them to identify and train up new leaders. We address any issues among the team immediately and deal with them so there will be no division among us.”
