We were lucky to catch up with Jaqueline Burgess recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Jaqueline thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was always creative, always drawing, painting and creating from an early age. I worked in other fields, childcare, and teaching art at a boys’ school in London to name a few, unsure of how to turn my artistic abilities into a career. It was only when I had my second baby, one year into her life that I hit a bump in the road, feeling disconnected from my true essence, my purpose. After many tears and feeling like I had fallen into a pit of despair, the grace of God/universe I realised I was more than just a mother and a wife. I realised that I was blessed with the talent to create art, of any kind. I had recently met an Artist who became a good friend, he had recently quit his job and started supporting his whole family. If he could turn his art into a career, why couldn’t I do the same?
I decided to focus on my Art, I made it a daily practice, every evening when my two little girls were tucked up in bed, and the house was quiet, I painted. I documented my process, sharing it on social media. My family and friends who were all sprawled across the world were so encouraging. I started taking orders for commissions from family and friends, and gradually what started as a passion grew into a small business. for the very first time in my adult life, I felt in flow and like I had a greater purpose. My Artistic practice became very disciplined, I started selling my artwork through markets and on Etsy. As time went on, I started to draw some attention from small galleries and was asked to partake in group exhibitions. Over time my confidence grew, as the organic process unfolded. 8 years down the track, with over 100 original paintings sold, and becoming a finalist in several art prizes in Australia, the universe decided to push me in a direction I never imagined possible. It was as though I had been in training for something greater, all those years of discipline in my art practice. Through the discovery of meditation, a new world opened up to me. I started seeing beyond what the physical eyes could see. Now, in 2024 I was ready to expand, and delve deeper into my purpose. I was to offer paintings that tap into consciousness, the essence of others, their soul blueprints.

Jaqueline, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I offer paintings that connect to individuals on a soul level. My artwork is channelled energy, that taps into the essence of love, the planet and creation. Each artwork is inspired by the energy of a place. I recall the emotional and energetic vibration of a particular place and I can transfer this feeling onto the canvas. Each painting has a blueprint that connects with and matches the energy of a particular person. Sometimes it’s just an exchange of energy, between the viewer and the work itself. Through the simplicity of visually connecting with the artwork. I believe my artwork is healing, it brings about a sense of peace, comfort, ones connection to the planet and with one’s self and others. It can also be a stronger energetic match, as though the painting was created for that particular individual. These are the moments when I person is compelled to purchase the work for themselves, an inner knowing guiding them. The painting is perfectly synchronised and aligned with the individual’s field.
I also offer paintings based on an individual’s Akashic records, this is where through meditation, I can tap into the blueprint of someone and read the essence of their soul. I receive visual information that connects with that person on a soul level. This then, is expressed and translated through a painting that is a representation of their soul’s journey and essence.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is that my artwork helps others on their journeys of awakening. That the art inspires them, that it reminds them of the beauty of this planet we call home. To understand their connection to the planet, and the oneness of creation and all living creatures and beings. My art is a reminder of their divine essence and that we are all creative beings by nature. Creativity is a part of everyone’s expression, be it through the arts, science, teaching or any form of expression. We do not have to be Artists to be creative. When we find joy, this is when we are at our deepest level of creativity. This is possible for every being on this planet.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Going within, and opening up our hearts to receiving the innate guidance from within, through the practice of mediation. This starts with becoming aware of the planet, her love, and her unconditional generosity to provide. Searching for the answers from within, instead of seeking external validation. When we become aware of our inner guidance, our eyes will open as a society to the creativity available to all. We will become inspired by others, instead of jealousy and a need to dominate or overpower others. I believe that the artists on the planet are here to light that spark of creativity within all of us and remind us of our power to make change, heal ourselves, heal others, and heal this planet. To become a collective force of creative energy. To see that we are ONE.
