Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Amber Eilertson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Amber , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
A defining moment in my career happened when I left the corporate world and private practice to create my own online business. It was a powerful experience because it was a culmination of reckoning moments, where I realized that the pace and work I was doing at the time was making me sick. I was repeating a pattern that was no longer serving me. An unconscious pattern of over working and high achievement/performance to prove my worthiness. This transition was an open door and invitation of freedom to work wherever and however I chose. It was an opportunity to think bigger and outside the box that had been laid before me. It meant time freedom and flexibility. It meant I chose the clients I worked with. It meant I could live anywhere while doing work that I loved. It also opened my mind financially to new possibilities, and allowed me to see my vision and dreams as achievable instead of settling for safety and predictability that corporate and a 9-5 offered.

Amber , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Dr. Amber Salvador. I’m a Clinical Psychologist and Holistic Healing Coach that specializes in helping people to heal the relationship with self, their family/partners, and their relationship with their Creator. Relationships are the foundation of our lives and our happiness. Without a solid understanding of who we are, we will flounder in life. We will struggle in our purpose, and we will have difficulty building and maintaining healthy friendships and intimate relationships. I believe the highest call we have on this earth is to invest in a relationship with God, first and foremost. From there, we’re more able to recognize our identity given by God, rather than the culture. When we are strong in who we are and why we’re here, we’re better able to show up solid, whole, loving and mature in relationships. I love helping clients who are committed to their personal growth in purpose and faith.
I think one of the biggest things that sets me apart as a clinician is the level of dedication I’ve had to working on my own healing, as well as continuously training and educating myself in faith based and holistic healing practices. In order to take someone to the depths of themselves for greater healing and change, one must have been able to do so themselves. I am a huge advocate for breaking the cycle of generational trauma that’s passed through family lineages. I am a generational “cycle breaker” and thus, I help empower people to “be the change” in their family system, their communities and beyond.
This is truly how we change the world. One person at a time. It requires commitment to a greater purpose, which is what I believe a relationship with God gives someone. I’m here to help facilitate that relationship and empower them to heal themselves and their connections with others that matter most. This is how people become who they are truly destined to be in this world.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I think my life has been a series of “unlearning,” and it continues for the purpose of learning who God has me to be. My God given identity.
Unlearning for me has included primarily what has been taught by the culture. Unlearning that my worthiness is not predicated upon my beauty, performance, financial status or level of success.
Unlearning the dangerous ideas about our healthcare system that primarily focuses on treatment through medications. Recognizing that my body and mind and spirit are connected and that there are answers in nutrition, faith, and nature that our culture does not advocate for or recommend.
Unlearning to use everyday products filled with toxins, including clothing, face/body products, kitchen supplies, etc and finding alternatives made with more natural ingredients that aren’t hormone disrupting and contain heavy metals.
There’s so much more I could share, but my point is that I continually strive to learn and grow with a curious mind. I am open to finding Gods truth and design in everything artificial and man made, so that I can work towards living the healthiest and most fulfilling life that I can while I’m here.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
In 2015, I was diagnosed with a blood disorder named ITP (for short). It came after receiving a heavy dose of antibiotics that was given to treat an infection that was later called a “false positive.” Meaning that I didn’t actually have the infection, but was treated for it. This heavy dose of antibiotics created a cascade of autoimmune symptoms, which was later diagnosed as a blood disorder. To say that I was angry and confused was an understatement. The doctors provided me with options for treatment including steroids, chemo drugs and a splenectomy (removal of my spleen). All of which were not sustainable or good solutions for me given what had just happened to my body. I decided to treat this naturally, which sent me on a long journey of healing. I decided to work on healing my body from top to bottom, including physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. This is a disease that can be deadly and quite debilitating for people. I have chosen to use this experience as a catalyst for my healing and growth on so many levels. It has opened my eyes to so many facets of healing, and has shown me that true healing comes first and foremost from a relationship with God and a willingness to look at all aspects of the human condition – body, mind and spirit.
