We were lucky to catch up with Isha El recently and have shared our conversation below.
Isha, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risk I have ever took was deciding to be a full-time entrepreneur. I started my company on December 26, 2018, but I was still working several jobs and hosting an Airbnb from my home. During the 2020 Covid-19 lock down I decided it was time to take the risk and build the stability in my company that it needed for me to be able to depend on. I had recently been in counseling and receiving reiki healing from a well known spiritual advisor in my community. There I was able to unravel a lot of unknown trauma and unaddressed wounds. I was informed by my spiritual advisor that I suffered from a condition called anxiety. This made a lot of sense to me, and helped me determine that I was not returning to the work force. I was very excited and very grateful to finally had been granted this opportunity. On December 23, 2020 I purchased my first booth to be a vendor at a local event. It all felt like a dream, but it was the proudest moment for me. I felt very brave and courageous for having the strength to make my dreams my reality. Thankfully I had a few friends and relatives stop by and support me. That was very encouraging. I was a new business to the public, and no one really knew me. A lot of people just browsed my table, but didn’t make any purchases. I learned starting off as a full time entrepreneur that you have to be patient, dedicated, persistent, and determined to succeed in order to get the results you truly want.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a “Oracle Healer” and my company is called “Goddess On The Rise”. I have naturally been a caring and intuitive person my entire life. As a child a lot of friends and relatives naturally came to me when they needed advice. Being very young with this ability I didn’t know it’s true value. I provide divination readings via crystal ball, tarot cards, runes stones, moon stones, astrology, tessomancy, and cartomancy to name a few. I also host a live YouTube channel titled “SacredEnergyXchange222” where I provide free collective readings for anyone in need of spiritual guidance. As a healer my services are geared towards healing from a childhood level to the present. This is where a lot of unaddressed wounds seems to be buried, and holding us back from living the lives we desire and deserve. I refrain from comparing myself to others as no ones life is exactly the same and that’s what makes us unique. What helps me better serve my clients is I have personally gone through a lot of things they come to me for assistance about to help them get through it. My most proudest moment is believing in myself no matter the conditions or circumstances and I never give up. I have a jewelry line called “udjatcu” where I sell authentic copper jewelry for healing. Lastly I have a metaphysical shop where I sell spiritual tools via sage, incense, crystals, candles, palo santo, tarot cards, and oracle cards of all kinds. I grew up very drawn to the practices of magick. I watched shows like Bewitched, Sabrina the teenage witch, Are you afraid of the dark, I dream of Jeannie, X-files, and Miss Cleo to name a few. This heavy curiosity led me to further explore why I was so interested in it. When me and my relatives would go to the mall I use to hangout at this well known store called “Hot Topic”. It eventually became my favorite store and I slowly started my journey into the dark arts.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped me build my reputation within my market was mainly working events that fit my business. Naturally any events geared towards healing or magick I had a higher chance of being patronized as well as earning new customers. Most importantly staying persistent was the key. In the beginning before I had a location for customers to come to I had to constantly be seen working events. The more people that seen me at similar events, the more serious they knew I was and they naturally became more supportive.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
My constant persistence through the ups and downs of my career has been my most effective strategy for growing my clientele. People are very supportive and inspired by people like myself that took the risk no matter the hardships we may face from time to time. Along with connecting/collaborating with other known healers that share similar goals and values has helped me tremendously, as word of mouth travels fast especially when you are seen working as a team.
