Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Angie Krulcik. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Angie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Kinderfit is a mobile physical education business that services preschools in our community, and other communities as we expand. As a female Business owner, who never dreamed of owning a business, I’ve learned that your gift truly makes room for you. My heart and passion is to see people walk in the truth and freedom that Christ came to give us. In this journey, and dealing with many families over the years, I have seen time and time again the damage that brokenness in a family can cause in children. These children become the unhealed adults that we work and live with everyday. Our goal is not only to get into these schools to do physical education with these children, but to impact their lives in a positive way. We strive to be their biggest fans and to see them overcome obstacles that they thought they could not overcome. The joy KinderFit brings to their faces is priceless! We have been told so many times over the years how kids will talk about Kinderfit at home and cannot wait for their Kinderfit day at their school! True compassion and the love of God brings lasting impact.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Kinderfit is a mobile PE program for preschools, and has been in operation for at least 15 years in Saint Augustine, Florida. I have owned the business for seven years. My husband and I moved to Saint Augustine 20 years ago to help start the church we attend, where we have served as associate pastors for 20 years. Because of our love for the family and my passion to be in the community, I wanted a part time job so that I could be home with my kids, but also impact children in our community. This is how I first learned about KinderFit. I worked with the previous owner for two years, and when she decided to sell the business, I knew in my my heart that we would purchase it.. Since purchasing Kinderfit, we have grown and are now expanding to Valdosta, Georgia. While working in the foster care system (in a group home setting), as well as other community organizations, I have observed the impact that can be made in children’s lives. Kinderfit is one way we bring joy, compassion, love, and fun!

Have you ever had to pivot?
At the genesis of the Covid-19 pandemic, we lost several accounts with schools KinderFit operated in. As a result, I had to layoff my employees and run KinderFit at the remaining schools myself. This was a challenging time — not only for the business — but also for my employees. KinderFit did not go under during Covid, and for that, I am so thankful! Although we did not regain all of our schools, most are back in action!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
In one word, consistency. Kinderfit has been in operation for at least 15 years and we have maintained a great culture, and classes that impact the children in their development. Teachers, Directors and parents see the impact! Parents often share with our staff that their kids also love Kinderfit so much that they talk about it at home!
