For those who haven’t yet crossed paths with me or my work, I’m Dr. Travis Fox, a clinical hypnotherapist, entrepreneur, EMMY Award winner and Chief Transformation Officer with over three decades of experience in performance enhancement and business psychology.
My journey into this industry began in an unexpected place—on the golf course. As a young athlete, I became fascinated by the mental game and how our thoughts shape performance, leading me to dive deep into the world of subconscious behavior and personal transformation.
Over the years, I evolved from helping athletes achieve peak performance to coaching entrepreneurs and executives to master their inner game, helping them to unlock their potential and transform their businesses from the inside out. This journey culminated in creating the Ultimate Business Quest (UBQ) app, a groundbreaking platform that brings the principles of personal development and business strategy to life through a unique, gamified experience.
At UBQ, we don’t just provide conventional business coaching or seminars. We offer an immersive, quest-based adventure that makes learning fun, engaging, and deeply impactful. Our app, paired with a physical venue that feels like stepping into another realm, takes users on a journey through various business challenges, teaching them to master negotiation, leadership, marketing, and strategic thinking— all while playing a game. This isn’t your typical lecture or workshop; it’s a full-blown adventure where you are the hero of your own story.
What sets us apart is our commitment to making business education enjoyable, relatable, and, most importantly, actionable. Through the UBQ app, we solve a crucial problem for our clients: the overwhelming, often daunting process of personal and professional growth. By gamifying this journey, we remove the fear and replace it with excitement and curiosity, empowering users to embrace their unique paths with confidence and creativity.
I’m most proud of creating a community where people from all walks of life come together to explore, learn, and grow. The transformations I’ve witnessed—people discovering new strengths, overcoming long-standing barriers, and forging deep connections with like-minded adventurers—are nothing short of inspiring.
For potential clients, followers, and fans, I want you to know that this isn’t just about business; it’s about reimagining your entire life. My brand, my work, and my passion lie in helping you break free from the mundane and step into your power, blending the principles of psychology, personal growth, and business strategy with the thrill of adventure. Join us in this new era of learning, where business is not a chore but a quest—and where every challenge is an opportunity to level up.
Welcome to the Ultimate Business Quest. Your journey awaits. 🌟

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There comes a point in every journey when the path changes direction, often when we least expect it. For me, that moment came thousands of feet above sea level, on the rugged slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Up until that point, my life had been focused on success—achieving goals, winning accolades, building businesses, and living what many would call a dream life. But the real pivot in my life, the one that shifted my focus from mere success to deep, meaningful service, began on that mountain.
I had decided to climb Kilimanjaro not just as an adventure but as a challenge to push my limits, mentally and physically. I wanted to test the principles I had been teaching for years—those of mindset, perseverance, and inner mastery—against one of nature’s greatest challenges. The mountain was majestic and beautiful but also intimidating, a perfect metaphor for the personal and professional heights I was always chasing.
The first few days were exhilarating; I felt strong, my mind sharp, my body agile. But as we climbed higher, the air thinned, and the reality of the journey began to set in. I started to feel the strain, not just in my body but in my spirit. Each step became heavier, each breath more labored. And somewhere on that ascent, in the biting cold and thin air, I found myself wrestling with a deeper question: *Why am I doing this?*
Then, on the final push toward the summit, a moment of clarity hit me like a bolt of lightning. Exhausted, I collapsed onto a rock, my heart racing, my mind flooded with thoughts. It wasn’t fear of failure that gripped me—it was a profound sense of something missing. I realized that for all my achievements, I had been climbing a different kind of mountain, one built on accolades, success metrics, and external validation. But deep down, I felt unfulfilled, like I was running a race without knowing why I was running it in the first place.
It was in that moment, surrounded by the vastness of Kilimanjaro, that I understood what I needed to do. I needed to pivot—not away from success, but toward something deeper: service. I realized that the true summit wasn’t about reaching the top of a mountain or achieving another business goal. It was about using my skills, knowledge, and passion to serve others in a way that felt authentic and aligned with my purpose.
When I finally reached the summit, it wasn’t just a victory over the physical challenge; it was a profound shift in perspective. The view from the top was breathtaking, but even more powerful was the realization that I was meant to do something greater than just succeed. I was meant to serve—to help others find their paths, overcome their own mountains, and discover their true potential.
Upon returning from Kilimanjaro, I knew I had to pivot my career and my life’s work. I transformed my focus from simply coaching executives and athletes to creating the Ultimate Business Quest (UBQ), a platform that makes personal growth and business mastery accessible and engaging for everyone. The UBQ app was born from this revelation—a tool designed not just to teach but to transform, helping people navigate their own journeys, discover their strengths, and embrace their unique quests in life.
This pivot changed everything for me. It shifted my goals from personal success to collective empowerment, from the top-down approach to leading from within, and from chasing goals to helping others craft their own stories of triumph and fulfillment.
Now, every time I think back to that mountain, I am reminded of the moment I stopped climbing just for the summit and started ascending to make a difference. Kilimanjaro taught me that real success isn’t found at the top of any mountain; it’s found in the hearts we touch, the lives we change, and the purpose we serve.
That climb redefined my purpose and turned my journey from one of self to one of service. And it’s a journey I invite everyone to join, one quest at a time.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
For many years, I built my identity around being a hypnotist. I was the guy who could guide people into their subconscious, help them unlock their potential, and break through mental barriers. I had studied, practiced, and perfected the craft to the point where I believed that hypnosis was the ultimate tool—the answer to almost every challenge people faced in business, sports, and life. It became my calling card, my expertise, and, in many ways, my comfort zone. But then, I hit a turning point that made me realize I had more to learn—and, perhaps more importantly, a lot to unlearn.
It all started during a major business event where I was invited to speak. I was set to perform a live demonstration of hypnosis, something I had done countless times before. I walked on stage, confident in my ability to engage the audience, take them on a journey into their minds, and create an unforgettable experience. I began my routine, leading the group through a series of visualizations, guiding them into a relaxed state, as I had done so many times before. But this time, something felt different.
As I scanned the room, I noticed a few people who weren’t fully engaged, their eyes darting around, their minds seemingly elsewhere. For the first time in my career, I felt a wave of uncertainty. I finished the session, but the doubt lingered. I realized I had been so focused on mastering the technique of hypnosis that I had overlooked a crucial aspect: not everyone is ready to be hypnotized, not everyone responds the same way, and, more importantly, not every problem can be solved by simply accessing the subconscious mind.
This moment sparked a period of deep reflection and self-assessment. I began to question the limits of my craft. Had I become too reliant on hypnosis as a one-size-fits-all solution? Was I truly helping people transform, or was I just giving them a temporary experience? I realized that while hypnosis was a powerful tool, it wasn’t enough on its own. People needed more than just a subconscious shift; they needed a holistic approach that integrated mind, body, and spirit, one that addressed their conscious choices, daily habits, and real-world actions.
The lesson I had to unlearn was this: being a hypnotist was not enough. I had to expand beyond my identity, beyond the comfort of what I knew, and into a realm of deeper, more comprehensive transformation. I needed to understand that true growth comes from a blend of awareness, action, and community support—not just from a single method or technique.
This realization led me to broaden my approach. I began integrating new modalities, merging psychology, neuroscience, game theory, and experiential learning. This journey of unlearning and relearning eventually birthed the Ultimate Business Quest (UBQ) app—a platform that combines the power of storytelling, gamification, and real-world business strategy to help people grow in a fun, engaging, and transformative way. It’s not about a single method anymore; it’s about creating a complete experience that empowers people to take charge of their own journeys.
What I’m most proud of now is that I’ve learned to let go of the need to be “the hypnotist” and embraced being a guide—a guide who helps people navigate their own quests, not just through the subconscious but through all aspects of life. I learned that no single tool, technique, or title defines me or the work I do. True transformation is multidimensional, and so am I.
Unlearning that hypnosis alone was enough allowed me to step into a much larger world of possibilities—one where my work could impact not just minds but entire lives. That’s a lesson I carry with me every day, and it’s the foundation upon which the Ultimate Business Quest is built: it’s not about one path; it’s about discovering all the paths within you and choosing your ultimate adventure.
