We were lucky to catch up with Rebecca Fritz recently and have shared our conversation below.
Rebecca, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the most transformative risks I’ve taken was stepping away from a predictable path and saying a full-body “yes” to creating Sutra Studios. It was a decision guided more by intuition than logic—a leap into the unknown driven by a deep soul calling to create something that could truly help people heal and grow.
Over fifteen years ago, my husband and I were at a crossroads. My husband was in a well-established professional path, and I was deeply rooted in the sacred work of being a stay-at-home mom, nurturing our family. But there was this inner nudge—this whisper from the Universe that kept telling us there was more we were meant to do. We felt this undeniable urge to create a sacred space where people could explore their wellness journey in a way that honors all aspects of who they are—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
The vision was clear, but the path was anything but. We were leaving behind security to follow a dream that felt so much bigger than us, and with that came fear. We were asking ourselves to trust something we couldn’t see, to believe in a vision that didn’t yet exist in the material world. But that’s where the magic lies—in the space where faith meets action.
There were moments when fear almost got the best of us. Investing our savings, walking away from comfort, and stepping into a world where there were no guarantees—it was terrifying. But we chose to lean into that fear, to dance with it, rather than run away from it. We kept reminding ourselves to trust the divine timing, knowing that the clarity of our vision and the purity of our intention would lead the way
Those early days were filled with challenges. The fear of “What if no one shows up?” or “What if this doesn’t work?” echoed loudly. But every time doubt crept in, we chose to return to our purpose: to create a community where people could come as they are, to feel seen and supported, and to tap into their own inner power.
And then the Universe started to conspire with us. Little by little, people began to show up. Not just for the yoga or the movement classes, but for the deeper work—the mindfulness, the meditation, the nourishment of body and soul, and the spiritual exploration that allowed them to connect with their own inner wisdom. We witnessed transformations beyond our expectations—people stepping into their light, healing old wounds, and finding a renewed sense of purpose.
Today, Sutra Studios is not just a wellness studio; it’s a living, breathing community where people come to expand, to grow, and to remember who they really are. Looking back, I see that the risk we took wasn’t really a risk at all—it was a divine assignment. It was a calling to step into our true purpose and serve in a way that aligns with our highest selves.
Taking that leap taught me that when you trust the nudges from the Universe, when you allow yourself to be guided by something bigger than fear, you create space for miracles to unfold. The risk wasn’t in starting something new; the risk would have been in ignoring the call to create it.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hey there, I’m Rebecca, and I’m all about guiding people back to their inner light and helping them align with their highest potential. My journey into this world of holistic wellness began after I graduated as an oncology therapist—a path that taught me so much about the human spirit, resilience, and the power of healing. After graduation, I was blessed to spend time as a stay-at-home mom, nurturing our family, but soon I began feeling a deep, intuitive nudge—a calling to create something more, something bigger, something that could be a catalyst for transformation.
That nudge from the Universe led me and my husband, Matt, to open Sutra Studios—a soulful wellness sanctuary where people could come to not just heal, but to truly awaken. We knew we wanted to build a space that wasn’t just about one aspect of wellness, but about the whole self—mindset, movement, meditation, nourishment, and tapping into that magical, spiritual connection that makes life feel full and vibrant.
How I Got Started: The decision to open Sutra Studios came from a deep place of knowing. Matt was on a stable career path, and I was rooted in the sacred role of a stay-at-home mom, but we both felt this undeniable pull to step into something more expansive. We envisioned a place where people could explore their full selves—a place where they could heal not just their bodies, but also their thoughts, emotions, and energy. It was a bold step, one that required trust in something bigger than ourselves, but we knew that the vision was divinely guided.
What We Offer: At Sutra Studios, we guide people on a journey to align with their most authentic selves. Our offerings are centered around five core elements that I believe are essential for living a life that feels balanced and fulfilled:
Mindset: We work with clients to release limiting beliefs and step into a mindset that supports growth, expansion, and true self-awareness. Through workshops, classes, and soulful conversations, we help people cultivate a positive inner dialogue that aligns with their highest good.
Movement: Movement, particularly yoga, is at the heart of what we do. Yoga is a practice that grows with you; it’s adaptable, nurturing, and deeply healing at any age or stage of life. Whether through a dynamic flow that builds strength and confidence or a gentle practice that restores balance and peace, we believe movement is medicine.
Meditation: We offer powerful meditation practices that help quiet the mind, heal the heart, and connect deeply with the soul. Meditation is the bridge that brings us back to our true essence and allows us to tap into a higher consciousness. It’s where clarity, creativity, and healing truly begin.
Nourishment: We emphasize mindful nutrition and conscious eating practices that help people connect with their bodies’ wisdom. It’s about understanding what fuels you on every level—physically, emotionally, and energetically—and making choices that support your highest self.
Magic: This is the space where we invite clients to explore their spiritual journey. Whether it’s through energy work, intuitive guidance, or simply connecting with the beauty of nature, we encourage people to find their own version of magic. This is where transformation happens, where we remember that we are not just human beings having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience.
What Sets Us Apart: What truly sets Sutra Studios apart is our dedication to making this deep, integrative approach to wellness accessible to everyone. For just $27 a month, clients have access to our entire range of offerings. We believe in breaking down barriers—financial, physical, emotional—so that anyone who feels called to join our community can do so. It’s not just about the classes; it’s about the collective energy, the community, and the safe space we’ve created for people to be seen, heard, and held as they explore their own path to healing and awakening.
What I’m Most Proud Of: I am incredibly proud of the soulful community that has flourished at Sutra Studios. Watching people come alive, reconnect with their truth, and step into their power is what fills me up every day. It’s a space where people don’t just come to learn—they come to remember who they really are.
What I Want You to Know: I want you to know that wherever you are on your journey, Sutra Studios is here for you. We are here to support you, to guide you, and to walk with you as you explore your own path to wellness, joy, and purpose. Our mission is to create a sacred space where you can connect with yourself, your community, and the greater flow of life. I invite you to step into this space with us and discover the infinite possibilities that await when you align with your whole self.
Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the most transformative pivots we’ve experienced at Sutra Studios came when life invited us to completely reimagine how we serve our community. Like so many, we were deeply impacted by the pandemic and had to quickly adapt from being a thriving in-person studio to operating fully online. Initially, this shift felt like a big ask from the Universe—a moment that required surrender, trust, and a willingness to embrace the unknown.
In those early days of the pandemic, we had no idea how things would unfold. It was all about showing up, staying present, and being open to new possibilities. Our community was used to the energy, the connection, and the magic that happens in a physical space. So, there was this big question: How do we translate that into an online experience that still feels alive and sacred? But what happened next was beyond what we could have ever imagined. Moving online wasn’t just a solution to a temporary problem—it became a gateway to something much bigger.
The virtual space opened us up to an entirely new world where we could reach people far beyond the walls of our studio. We started seeing faces from across the country and even around the world. People who had never set foot in our physical space were now joining our classes, workshops, and wellness experiences. We were suddenly able to help so many more people discover the tools they needed to live happier, healthier lives.
Then, as the world began to open back up, we joyfully returned to our in-studio experience, reconnecting with our local community and feeling the energy of being together again. But the Universe wasn’t done guiding us just yet. Suddenly, a change with our building owner forced us out of our physical space and back into the online realm. At first, it felt like another curveball, another moment of, “Really? What now?”
But here’s what I’ve learned: When things feel like they’re falling apart, they might actually be falling into place. Being nudged back into the virtual space turned out to be one of the most expansive moves for us. Instead of viewing it as being “forced out,” we reframed it as being “invited in”—invited into a new way of serving, of connecting, and of being.
Now, we’re fully online, and it’s been the most incredible experience. We’re reaching more people than ever before, building a vibrant, inclusive community that transcends geographic boundaries. It’s been a beautiful reminder that sometimes the Universe has plans that are even greater than our own, and when we trust the flow, we open ourselves up to miracles.
This journey has shown me that pivoting isn’t about reacting to what’s happening—it’s about embracing where you’re being guided to go. It’s about surrendering to the process, trusting that every twist and turn is leading you to a greater expression of what’s possible.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One of the most profound lessons I’ve had to unlearn is the belief that you have to earn your worthiness. For so much of my life, I operated under the assumption that my value was tied to what I achieved, how much I gave, and how well I performed. I had unknowingly bought into the idea that worthiness was something to be earned rather than something that is inherently ours.
The backstory to this unlearning is deeply personal. As someone who has always been passionate about helping others, I found myself pouring into everyone around me—my family, my clients, my community. I believed that by giving more, doing more, and achieving more, I could somehow prove my worthiness. This belief was so ingrained that it felt normal to always be striving, always be doing, and never truly feeling like I was enough just as I am.
But then, as life often does, I was given a chance to see things differently. Through my journey with Sutra Studios and my own spiritual practice, I started to peel back the layers of this belief. I began to understand that worthiness isn’t something we have to hustle for or prove—it’s something we’re born with. It’s our birthright. The Universe doesn’t measure our value by what we do or how much we give; it honors us simply for being.
This realization didn’t come overnight; it was a process of deep inner work, meditation, and self-reflection. I had to be willing to look at the stories I had been telling myself about needing to “earn” my place, my love, my acceptance. I had to embrace a new narrative that said, “I am enough simply because I am.”
Now, I see that my worthiness isn’t conditional. It doesn’t depend on how many people I help or how well I perform. It just is. This unlearning has been a game-changer, not just for me, but for how I show up in my work and my relationships. It’s allowed me to serve from a place of fullness rather than lack, from love rather than fear.
I believe this is a message the world needs now more than ever: You are worthy just as you are. Not because you are doing, but because you are being. When we start to live from this truth, we create space for so much more joy, love, and connection.
