We recently connected with Brandon Butler and have shared our conversation below.

Brandon, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

I’m in the process of having my poetry book published and also working on new music. When it comes to my music I either been through it, seen it, or understand the feeling. My poetry type is freestyle in which I write to be understood or explain a feeling. I also make my own quotes and post them on my instagram social media (My instagram is: BloomTheCancer). One of my most recent quotes is ” Show Love- Love will get you killed.. Butt.. Love isn’t what’s killing Uss.. is it?” Meaning to me is that some rappers or some old sayings in movies or tv shows is that they say love will get you killed, but if you think about it now. Love isn’t why people are dying in my opinion. Another quote of mine I like is ” A step is a step, Like Downloading, it’s a process”. I Love Music and I Love Writing Poetry. My inspiration comes from music, anime, movies, cartoons, or just about anything that moves or feels me with a good feeling.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Well my artist name is BloomTheCancer breakdown( Bloom came from cause I like red roses when they bloom and the meaning of the red rose of passion. Cancer came from my zodiac sign, so together it’s BloomTheCancer). The Brand I want to build is like polo shirts but with a red rose symbol instead and more. I have been writing poetry since like the 6th grade and all people who read my poetry have said they have liked it from students, teachers, till now and so on. People still say they like it. So, now I’m like I should get my poetry published and see where it goes from there. My music comes from my mood and how I feel like laidback vibes like a family cookout, Just Chill relax and enjoy life. But also sometimes there are sad times to. Ups and downs that people go through, but its based on how you handle your emotions. The Heart has Feelings you can’t hold your Feelings back forever. Eventually your Heart will speak, so Let your Heart Speak.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I want to be known for my music, poetry, and creativeness. I want people to Feel and Inspire them through my creative ways. To touch Hearts and even when you are in a dark place there is still Light. Another quote of mine is ” The World Could Be A lot Better- When We Start To Work Together Again”. To Live and let go. We all probably have things in the past that we know was wrong or dirty and we have changed since then. That’s part of growing and becoming Wiser. It can all start by healing the present and making a better Future. But that’s just my opinion.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

Artist sometimes need help learning and receiving resources. Not all artist have the money to make moves. Sometimes artist need help or learn a way to help reach a audience. I use Distrokid and still have trouble to find the right audience for my music. The music business is not cheap but I do Believe in myself and trust one day I’ll get that call that could change my life. Even if not I Love my Music and is Passionate about it. I’m Also Passionate about my Poetry and whatever else I do.
