We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Clinton Gasaway a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Clinton , thanks for joining us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?

Well I came up with my business strictly to create more acting opportunities for me and other actors. It gets very frustrating on finding work so I had to create my own opportunities for me and my friends. The name of my business came from King (King Jaquell Martin) I was his coach in this indie movie titled Bonecrusher. And ever since then he always called me Coach. So that’s a little backstory on how I came up with Another Coach Productions.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Well I’m an actor always wanted to be one at an early age. I remember it like yesterday me being excited about a show. And exclaiming to my dad that I wanted to be an actor. I moved from Beaumont Texas to San Francisco California. Not my first choice I was supposed to be in LA. But I had to appease my mom I did not want her to worry. So I briefly stayed with my Uncle and Aunt and their kids. I totally ended up enjoying The Bay Area. From the people’s the culture the music! But anyways I love acting I’m willing to work my way up the ladder. No job is too small for me to accomplish my goals. However moving to Los Angeles in 2017. I’m a Union Actor but I’m not getting enough work. And I’m talking I’m willing to do background. But the jobs were far apart. So I had to take on a job to help pay my bills. Since I was not getting lead, costar or enough background work. I decided I would hire myself. I bought some camera, some audio equipment. And began putting myself and others actors to work. And now I have my first project The Heights Film ready to launch In the next 6 months.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

It’s funny being in this industry planning your film list. What you are expected to film that day. And things not working out. My motto in this industry is expect the unexpected. You plan all you want sometimes things will not go your way. I had an actor who was no longer available and we Cam Cashaw and me had to come up with a whole new arc for the film. And once you see The Heights Film you will see we did an amazing job!

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

My goal is to prove all the doubters wrong. People’s were saying you can not shoot a film on my budget. They thought it was a joke. But the joke is on them I completed my film and it will be on a streaming platforms. My first film will be on some streaming platforms. I’m sorry I have to give myself some major props. I did it and I did it my way.
