Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Jennifer Beeston. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Jennifer, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to stop predatory lending in the mortgage industry by educating consumers. Education is power and the mortgage process and how to effectively shop mortgage lenders has been gate kept for too long.
I started a YouTube channel approx 7 years ago where I share all my insider info and teach buyers about the process of buying a home and what to watch out for so they do not get taken advantage of.
One of my core missions is to make veterans the most aggressive mortgage rate shoppers in America. Here is a disturbing truth about the mortgage industry. If you are a veteran homebuyer, you can speak with one loan officer and get quoted a rate and fee package that is 2% higher and thousands and thousands of dollars in fees, more than just talking to another loan officer.
Veterans are ripped off every single day. It is completely wrong and it needs to stop
Veterans are known to not shop lenders. Many lenders take advantage of the fact that it’s a government loan to deceive buyers. They will say things like “VA sets the rates.” That is not true. They will say “it’s a government loan all lenders charge the same amount”. That is not true. They will say, “VA loans always have higher rates”. That is not true either.
The bottom line is that VA loans should have the lowest rate. . They are a government backed loan. VA does not set the rates or the fees and the rates and the fees are set by individual lenders. One of my core missions is to educate veterans about VA loans, and to arm them with the tools that they need in order to shop lenders effectively.
Jennifer, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I have been a mortgage lender for 17 years. I am currently ranked the number one VA loan officer in America and have been a top 1% loan officer in America for over seven years.
I got into mortgage industry because when my first husband and I bought our first home together, we ended up “house poor” At the time I was a stay at home mom and I knew nothing about mortgages.House Poor is when you have bought a house and you can basically just afford the mortgage the utilities, food and nothing else. That home put us in a position where it was critical for me to go to work. Through fate, I ended up in a mortgage office as an office manager. I saw what all the mortgage loan officers were doing and I went to my boss and I said I can do this better. I can really help people. My goal since day one was to educate homebuyers so that they did not end up in the position I had found myself in. I am licensed in 48 states and help buyers across America every day. I spend time going through payments, budgeting and what to expect. My team helps people plan years into the future so that when people get that house it is a benefit and not a burden. That is the key. Your home should be something you are happy to come home to and not a financial worry.
I have a YouTube channel where I share information to educate and empower homebuyers www.youtube.com/jenniferbeeston
I also have created a free course that is filled with everything a veteran needs to know to use their benefit and maximize it www.nostressva.com
I am vocal both within the industry and in the media about educating buyers and how to avoid predatory lending. I am here to make an impact.
– my title at work is SVP Mortgage Lending, Rate
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I built my audience on social media by being consistent and true to myself. What I have found over the years is that the more I am myself and not who I think people think I should be the more effective my social media is. At this point, I am 100% myself every single day. Nothing is scripted. Everything is from the heart and it resonates with my audience.
Any advice for managing a team?
My team is absolutely critical to my success. My team is made up of people who share similar values and have the same mission. They want to make a change and positive impact for homebuyers. They care.
My team gets along incredibly well and everybody supports each other. This environment is based on creating an environment where everybody’s encouraged to succeed. If someone makes a mistake it is not a big deal. Mistakes happen. I do not expect people to be perfect. I expect them to do their best, but I also expect that they’ll have off days.
The key is who is the core of that person. If you hire good people with a good values that match your mission you can’t go wrong .

Holly Rose took the picture of my dad, my son and I as well as the one of me in the chair. I included a picture with my dad because he has always been a guiding force in my life. He served in the Navy which is how he was able to pay for law school, which gave me all the opportunities in life that I had. He also has encouraged me to fight for what is right every step of the way. I included my son as well because my son is the one who originally told me to go on YouTube. My son now works with me part time while he’s in college and helps me come up with ways to get two more people to spread, my message. It was his idea to do a free VA course for all veterans and anyone who wants to understand the VA loan benefit.
