Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Swimmer
Hi Jasmine, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My origin story is anything but conventional and decidedly non-linear. Throughout my life, I effortlessly mastered many skills, making career choices quite challenging. One constant passion of mine has always been creating, and entrepreneurship naturally became my arena long before it had a formal name. The pandemic was a transformative period for many, and it marked the beginning of my journey. From a one-bedroom apartment with a newborn, I launched a sustainable skincare brand. Scaling the business from just Instagram to collaborating with Google and being featured in British GQ Magazine has been surreal. Despite these achievements, I faced significant struggles, including self-doubt, debt, and contemplating closing my business. The less glamorous reality of sleepless nights and financial uncertainty pushed me to be innovative, embrace mistakes, and learn quickly. Today, seeing my wild dreams come to fruition while growing my brand feels incredibly rewarding.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I used to religiously watch founder podcasts to learn about how others began their entrepreneurial journeys. Often, I found it hard to relate, as many founders had transitioned from previous careers or raised funds from family members. I soon realized that entrepreneurship is not a sprint but a long marathon. It’s a path filled with exhaustion, frustration, excitement, and even moments of wanting to quit. My journey has been anything but linear, but it has been steady. Each year, I set goals to improve both myself and my business. Many aspiring entrepreneurs expect overnight success, but true progress comes from setting and achieving small daily and yearly goals.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Finding a mentor is always a journey. As you grow both personally and as a business owner, you’ll inevitably need a range of mentors with different skillsets and insights to help propel you forward. My search for a mentor wasn’t straightforward; at one point, I had three. I focused on finding mentors who challenged me, understood my path, and could offer a broader perspective from their own experiences. Look for mentors whose strengths complement your weaknesses. LinkedIn is your best friend, best place to network and cold reach out without being weird.
